First off we need to be straight about the spelling of our names. Mine is LeFavour. Roy LeFavour. It has been reported, not proven, that my lineage was derived from the name of LeFevre and changed to LeFavour. Again, not proven. Offically I can trace my lineage back to Joseph and Elizabeth (Tucker) LeFavour who married and died in Muncie, Indiana. Descending from them we start with their son, James Lawrence LeFavour, his son, Rudolph LeFavour, his son, Ora Leon LeFavour and then Vernon W. LeFavour, my father.
Mary Ann McDonald, of Marion, Indiana, is a descendant of Clinton Dewitt LeFavour, a second son of Joseph and Elizabeth and she has done a very extensive genealogy of the LeFavour line.
If you wish to continue researching this family line please get back with me.

Tom, sounds like you are really ahead of the game! I just got started, but as I mentioned, Mary Ann has been very helpful to me. The Muncie thing sounds interesting, I would like to know more about it. I look forward to getting what ever you put together when you have it completed. Andy and I live in a suburb north of Atlanta, our address is 3012 Golf Crest Lane, Woodstock, Ga. 30189. Home # 770-592-7070 (unlisted) and my cell is 678-908-7060. I would love to meet you next time you are in Atlanta, please give me a call. I spend about half of my time now at our mountain home in Clayton, Ga., but always put our phone on forwarding so I don't miss calls. Please stay in touch. Sally

MaryAnn and I have been working together since the early 1980's. I and my wife Betsy have visited with her and her husband Bob several times in the past few years. I am at present attaching all kinds of photos and documents to my PAF file but when I am done I will send MaryAnn and you a copy. The file is very large with over 20,000 names. I have traced some lines forward and have found other living cousins. Betsy and I are leaving the middle of Sept for 11 day family history trip into eastern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and Western New York. In 2005 Betsy and I are planning to attend the Munice Geneology Fair with some other cousins.

I have been a Financial Planner for 30 years and on occassion go back to the Atlanta Area. Let me know how to reach you and maybe when we are in town we can meet.

Betsy and I have 13 children between our marriages but none between each other. We have been married 19 years. Take care

Tom Neil

Hi Tom, Good to hear from you. I have a lot of information, most of which has come from Mary Ann McDonald who is the daughter of the oldest child of John LeFavour and Amanda Smith. She has been researching for years ( first contacted my father in the '60's) and has been kind enough to forward alot to me. I would be happy to fax or send you what I have, there is alot, so mail may be best. You must be the Thomas James Neil listed as son of Theordore Neil and Erma Jensen, is that correct? I'm sure if you have children Mary Ann would like to add them to the decendants. She has some wonderful tidbits about our ancestors which I can include for you. It seems that most of the LeFavours didn't fall far from the Indiana tree until our generation. My father moved from Marion to Atlanta in 1950, just before I was a year old. He died in 1992. I have lived in the metro Atlanta area all my life with the exception of 3 years in California in the early 70's. I have a son, Michael Scott, 28 who is married and lives in the area. He and his wife, Suzanne, are presenting us with our first grandchild due in early February. I also have a daughter, Anne Elizabeth, 25, who is living in Baton Rouge, La. Both children are from my first marriage, surname Wiley. Mary Ann says that there are 5 generations of LeFavours buried in the Van Buren cemetary in Marion, In. I would love to hear anything you can share with me. I haven't done much lately as I have been very busy at work (I'm a realtor) but am winding down my business to semi-retire.
Mary Ann, I just found this sight and started looking around. I only see your posting (2years old) and another one from "Kathy", and it appears we are all related from way back. My father, Robert John LeFavour, passed away 12/2/92. I located in his possessions a letter from Mary Ann McDonald, who I assume is you. You mention your father was Forest LeFavour and apparently the connection goes back per your reference. Most of the people you mention in your posting are mentioned in your letter to my father dated 10/27/80. I hope you are still out there and can reply to this message.
Le Favour

I am the granddaughter of Clarence A Le Favour. He died in 1964. I never met him, And there was some family skeletons so nobody really wanted to talk about family. Anyway, My grandmother recently died and now I would like to know about where I decended, Without stepping on any toes. My father Donald R Le Favour is also deceased(1992). So, I do not have alot of info,or family members to turn to. I do know however (from my mothers memerory) that Clarences fathers name was Orville(maybe Orval) And his fathers name was Joseph and his fathers name was Clinton and his fathers name was also joseph(all last name Le Favour). But again, this is from my mothers info that she recieved from my father before he died, So I'm not really sure It is even correct. There are alot of family members still alive But like I said no one wants to discuss this topic for whatever reasons. My mother told me that it was taboo. So as you can see I have to reley on the internet. If anyone could help I would really appericate it.I'm not doing this for any other reason but, that I also have childeren that were born after the death of my father so,they have never known any of the Le Favour side of the family. So, as you see I just want to know for personel reasons . Thank you so much. Kathy

Kathy,
I just found this message board, tried to send a message a minute ago, but don't know what happened. I have some information from Mary Ann McDonald in a letter dated 10/27/ 80. It seems our connection goes back to Clinton DeWitt, son of Joseph and Elizabeth LeFavour of Mass. who moved to Indianapolis in the 1820's and later moved to and died in Muncie. Apparently Clinton was quite good looking and was married 3, times, moving around the country.
My family tree as I know is as follows:
beginning with Joseph LeFavour (Elizabeth Tucker)
Clinton DeWitt
John
Chester DeWitt
Robert John (my father b. 1921 d. 1992)
I located this letter after my fathers death and have also sent her a message.
My father Robert, was born in Marion, IN, an only child, and moved to South Bend in the mid 1920's. My grand parents lived there the rest of their lives and are buried there. My parents moved to Georgia in 1950 and my family has lived here since. I only have one brother who is 53 and childless, so our line of the family is at an end. I do have other details, but will wait to see if I get a response the this message.
Sally LeFavour Pecqueur
