Allen Lea was born in 1874 (Canada British Subject) his parents William Lea & Mary Ann Butler (or Butter) were married in Church Grisley Notts Eng on 20 July 1874 so it is presumed that they left for Canada immediately (to get there before freeze up) and Allen was born either on the voyage or on arrival but which province? William was a coal miner. Allen and parents appear again on the 1881 & 1891 census back in the UK. The parents can be found on the 1901 but no sign of Allen. The only other reference we have found to an Allen Lea is as Rev Allen Lea in South Africa, possibly as a missionary in the Methodist Missionary, he can be found on line commenting on the Bulhoek massacre of 1921. Not sure if this is the same man.
I have no other Lea information.
