Melissa does have errors on the above.
Margaret (Peggy) Leachman m. to John Lord is correct. As for Ann who was sister of Margaret, I do not have a marriage for her, only info. on her was that she went to court to establish a guardian, 1754. I don't think I have your mailing address but will list the Thomas Leachmans I have in my book. I think Melissa has mixed them a little. Great of you to index her book.
Thomas Leachman I (emigrant to Virginia)
No birthdate, VA court records 20 May 1656 state Thomas Leechman, age 40 years or thereabout, testified in court. Other records show this man m. a Mrs. Dellabow, relict of Abraham Dellabow. I only find evidence of 1 child to this Thos. Leachman.
Thomas Leachman 2 (also found in VA Northumberland Co. records); m. Elizabeth Gralesse and was executor of her father's estate; their children: Thomas b. betw. 1700 and 1709 and John b. 1708/1709 (b.d.'s sketchy on these}.
Thomas Leachman 3, b. betw. 1708/1709; d. before 22 June 1752; we think wife's name was Elizabeth (no surname for her) nothing confirmed. Children: (1) Leonard Sr. m.
Sarah Foster;(2) Ann (nothing known except as above) (3) Thomas(4) d. betw. Feb. Aug. 1799 (my dir. ancestor); (4) Sampson (settled later in KY); (5)
Margaret who m. John Lord, went to Abbeville, SC.
I think you wrote to me once, David, but I don't have the letter now so don't have a
mailing address. Would like to send you some photocopies of first part of my book on the above lineage. There is not room here to put forth all explanations, etc. Tell me where you fit into the Leachman lineage.
