I think we have the same Leader. My great grandfather Henry H. Leader had a brother George born 1839 married to Margaret SLeighter. Had son David born in l874. What is your line? I think your George would be my uncle? Please reply. Thanks. I am also looking for the Leader homeplacee in Bedford Co. I have a picture and would like to locate it.

I am seeking information about Samuel Leader who was born in 1787 in Leverington, Cambridgeshire and his wife Jane Eldridge who was born in 1791 in Leverington Cambridgeshire.

Samuel and Jane had 5 children. The 2 eldest born in Tydd St. Giles in Cambridgeshire and the other 3 born in Long Sutton, Lincolnshire.

Jane died in 1825 in Long Sutton, Lincolnshire.

Samuel remarried on 13/12/1825 to Susanna Loveitt. Susanna was born in Long Sutton in 1792.

Any information about this family is greatly appreciated to continue the family tree

Seeking information on the Leader family of cambridgeshire

I am seeking any information on John Piggott who was born in 1781. Not too sure where. According to 1841 census he did not come from Cambridgeshire. John married Sarah Leader and they had eight children all born in Leverington. Sarah died in 1827 aged 37 years.

Any information about John or Sarah is greatly appreciated to keep the family tree going.

Christina, did you ever find anything out about uncle Harvy? Your great great grand parents names were John Thomas Leader and Alice Virgina Morhart.I never saw Uncle Harvy he had dieded either be for I was born or when I was little. He had 7 brothers and sisters, my grand mother was Alta May Leader Corser.Then Uncles Will,Charles, Marian,Sisters were Alta , Lucy, Alma, Edith., Who is your grand parent and parent off of the Leader side.Ask your grand mother or mother if they rember Clareen Corser. I do have some information but have to find it in my books.

Hello, I've been searching for the marriage of the following, but have not found it so far!

Robert Leader, born 1817, Shoreditch
Sophia Sibley, born 1819, Antwerp, Belgium

1841 Census shows the couple as married and living in Brook Street, Stepney. First child Robert was born in 1841.

I know Sophia's maiden name was Sibley because I have their daughter's birth cert.

I have searched Free BMD index as far back as possible (1837) but have an inkling the marriage may have been just before then, which is why I can't find it.

Sophia must have been young when they got married, I have not traced her back any further and don't know when she went from Belgium to London.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Frances Leader, born London c. 1848

Hello, I'm trying to trace my family tree but am having problems with the Leader family. Frances Leader was my great grandmother, born I believe in Stepney, London around 1848 (possibly 1846). She married Edward Robinson and they lived in West Ham.

I believe her father was William Leader, born 1820. His wife was another Frances Leader, born 1834 but she would have been too young to be the mother of Frances born in 1848! According to the 1861 Census the family lived at 54 Gopsall Street, Shoreditch.

If anyone has any info about Frances Leader I would be most grateful.

i recently visited several cemeteries in hancock county to search for family headstones. when i visited the van horn cemetery i located a headstone for Marilla Leader - 1863-1939. I didn't get the name of her husband, but they were buried side by side. I only noticed the headstone because of the name - Marilla. My ggggrandfather had a daughter named Marilla, born around 1860, but the family moved south and she decided to stay. I don't know if this is her, but I wanted to post to see if anyone had this name in their database - was her maiden name McRill?

I remember her husband's name being Harvey Allen Leader and they lived in Attica, KS. Her funeral notice said she was born in OK. DO you have any info on where he was born? Thanks

Hi Sally, I don't know if there is any connection, but I have been trying to find the wife of my great great grandfather Edward Manser who died in Bromley Kent in 1847, his wife was Harriet(unknown surname) I looked up the BMD records and he died a few months after her. So when I looked up his death it also had a Harriet Leader, I don't know if this his wife or just list both there deaths but it has no other Harriet for that year so it might be conicidental,also it has the June quarter 1843 which is different to the year I have. But there are no other records for Edwards Death. I know he was born in Stradbroke Suffolk,and at the time of his wife death she was living with her mother in Bromley Kent as he was away at sea in the Army as a officer on Prison ship comming to Australia.They had 3 sons Walter(died young) William and Edward, when the parents died they were sent out to Australia with a uncle. If you think there might be a connection. I would love to hear from you as I have not much to go on as far as Harriet is concerned. kind regards Barbara Swain West Australia

Looking for information on family of Fred Leader, born circa 1825-1828 in Harrisburg, PA. Fred married Hannah Winnemore circa 1844-1848 in Lancaster County and then moved to Philadelphia in 1851. Fred died in Philadelphia in 1872.

Samuel H. Leader, eldest of three children of Charles and Salona (Hildebrand) Leader, was born August 22, 1836, in York Township; he was reared on a farm and received a common school education; taught school three terms in York Township. December 26, 1861, Mr. Leader married Mary Ann Naly, daughter of Henry and Magdeline (Cornbau) Naly, of York Township. To this marriage was born Clara E., Henry A., Minnie M., Charles M., Sallie A. and Addie L. Mr. Leader’s grandfather’s name was Frederick Leader. The Leader family is one of the earliest that settled in York Township.

I have recently discovered a Lizzie Leader in my family tree. She married into a family in Reamstown, PA, but her origin in uncertain. I believe she lived in an orphanage until her teenage years, when she was taken in (but not adopted by) the Brossman family. Her birth year was 1877, and she could possibly have been Native American, but I have not been able to substantiate this. He was a carpenter, according to Lancaster County tax lists. The last tax list he appeared on was in 1839. In 1840, his widow/wife, SUSANNAH, purchased a home by herself in Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.
Also appearing on the tax lists, and census data, are LEWIS and JOSEPH. I am assuming these two are related somehow.
Is there anyone researching this family?
I have gathered quite a bit of data on this clan at the State Archives and in Lancaster County Courthouse, (which I'd be happy to share) but have nothing to tie it together. Any help is appreciated!

Seeking information on Emanuel Leader b. Oct 1850 in Texas. He is listed in the 1900 Census Fort Smith, Sebastian Co, Arkansas with wife Annie b. July 1848 and stepson Charles E. Kinman. Annie, Elizabeth Ann Wogan Kinman was first married to John Sims Kinman in Illinois. He moved on to North Texas from Illinois. Any information on this Leader family appreciated.
