Leander/Blackfoot

There are two things of interest to me in your posting. First, that your Leander connection is Blackfoot, because an elderly uncle I've seen only twice in my life has told me the Indian on this side of my family was Blackfoot (Cherokee on the matrilineal side). Second, that your surname is Beattie -- because we have Beattys in our our line from Ireland > Pennsylvania > North Carolina > Alabama, and some of the records spell the surname Beattie. I obviously don't have anything concrete for you, but I thought these were plausible leads, so thought I'd pass them on. Thanks for responding to my posting.

LEANDER female married to MOORE or LAND male

In hopes of determining my father's ancestry. His dad's middle name was Leander, and the tradition in the family is for the males' middle names to be maiden names of grandmothers -- hence the search for LEANDER females who married men surnamed Land or Moore. The LAND family might have been in SC, LA, or MS throughout the 1800s. The MOORE family was probably in MS the whole century, but likely had roots in KY. Also, there's supposed to be an "Indian" connection, possibly Cherokee. So I'd love to know of any Indian LEANDERs whether or not you have specific clues as to a connection.
