We are looking for a female descendant from one of Zachariah Leatherwood's elder daughters ELIZABETH LEATHERWOOD HOBBY/HOBBEY(b. abt 1754 VA; d.7 Nov 1844 AL) or NANCY LEATHERWOOD CALVERT (b.abt. 1758 VA; d. 1822 KY) who have a direct female line of descent and would be willing to take a DNA test. We are hoping that a MtDNA test might finally put to rest the controversy over the number of wives that Zachariah had. A direct female line descendant of documented wife Mary Stone is being tested.
