The Leavenworth Genealogy by Elias Warner Leavenworth, 1873, states that Mary Elizabeth Joslyn, who married Abel Leavenworth, was a widow of Samuel C. Alexander, of Williston, Vermont. They married 29 May 1835. He died 13 September 1842. The Genealogy also states that they had one daughter, as well as three sons, one who died at age twelve and two who died in the Civil War.
I am particularly interested in learning the name and other info about the son who died at age 12.
Further research shows that the other siblings were Sarah S. Alexander, b. 15 Sep 1838, Williston, Vt., who married John Pomeroy Patten on 1 Mar 1873, in Charlotte, Vt.; Samuel C. Alexander, b. 1843,Williston, d. 7 Oct 1862; and Robinson I. (or maybe Robert J.) Alexander, b. 1838, Williston,d. 23 Dec. 1862.
