Looking for primary documentary confirmation that Anna Foote, daughter of Isaac and Anna Foote, was (1) the wife of William Barker and (2) subsequently the wife of Amos Hickok.
Several genealogies state that Anna Foote, born 8 Apr 1774, probably Charlotte, VT, first married William Barker, born 1769 - 1770, died 22 August 1796, Champlain, NY (age 24 or 26), buried in Charlotte, VT; and later married Amos Hickok, born 1778 - 1779, Washington, CT, died 3 Jun 1839, Charlotte, Vermont. Anna (Foote) Barker Hickok died 26 April 1823, Charlotte, VT. I am unaware of any primary documents that confirm this.
On page 173, #188, of the Leavenworth Genealogy, by Elias W. Leavenworth, it says that Betsey Leavenworth married William Orson Barker. William Orson Barker was the son of William Barker, who died in 1796 and had been born about 1770. No mother of William Orson Barker is given. William Orson Barker was born July 6, 1795, shortly before his father died, according to the Leavenworth Genealogy, that also states that William Orson Barker lived mostly in Charlotte, Vermont.
According to a newspaper article about Nathaniel Hickok, son of Amos and Anna Hickok, he had a half brother named William O. Barker, living in either Charlotte or Shelburne, Vermont. So it seems that Anna (Foote) Barker was the mother of William Orson Barker.
Betsey Leavenworth and William Orson Barker had several children, one of whom they named Alonzo Hickok, according to the Leavenworth Genealogy (as well as William Orson Barker, Jr., Sarah Jennette Barker, and Lucy Ann Barker, and other children.)
I am wondering if the descendants of Betsey Leavenworth and William Orson Barker have Bibles, newspaper articles, etc. that confirm that Anna Foote married William Barker and Amos Hickok
