I am looking for any information on James LeCompte, born abt. 1815 on Maryland's Eastern Shore near Cambridge. He married Louisa Chapman (nee Mears) Jan 22, 1840. Their daughter Louisa married John Merrick May 3, 1866.

James LeCompte’s father may have been Nehemiah LeCompte, born abt. 1785 & married to Betsy Owens on 06 Jan 1807. I know he is not tied to the Nehemiah who was the first son of Anthony, fourth son of Antoine because that line died off in the mid to late 1700’s
