I just discovered my connection to the Jacob Best - Anna Catherine LeFevre line (hello, cousin!) and have stumbled on the same question. I don't find any credible proof that Anna Catherine's parents really were the Isaac LeFevre and Catherine Ferree whose info is so prevalent online.

As info, my source stating that connection was compiled by Fred and Anna Snyder, whose work is excellent, but not 100% perfect all the time (but whose work is 100% perfect in this hobby?!)

Would love any info anyone finds!
dschink at neo dot rr dot com

I am searching for my GrGrGrandfather, Augustin Lefevre, b: 1810, his wife, Mariane, b: 1815. I have found his son, Augustin (Jr), along with his wife Olympe, and Augustin's (Jr) mother (my GrGrGrandmother) Mariane Lefevre in the 1881 Ste-Helene, Bagot Quebec census. Together, they had the following children: Augustin, b: 1838, Noah Bean, b: 1841, Simon Bean, b: 1845, Philomene, b: 1848, Narciss (Nelson Bean-our GrGrandfather), b: 1851, and Abram Bean, b: 1853. Noah, Simon, and Nelson - all died in Muskegon MI. I have lost Augustin Sr after 1860 in MI, Mariane after 1881 (Canada). Maybe your AUgustin and my Augustin are the same man?? Thanks

This is for Gloria, who posted an item Feb. 2002 on Clarissa Ermina Claire LeFevre, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Snyder) LeFevre. I would like to correspond with you. My e-mail is jcartwr874@aol.com. My name is Janet Cartwright.

I saw the Feb.2002 posting while searching "Joseph Ritner LeFevre." Joseph's oldest daughter, Mary Margaret LeFevre (b. 1832 and maried to John D.Cartwright) was my great grandmother. ( page 43, PA LeFevre geneology book )

I have been searching for more facts about Joseph and Elizabeth (Snyder) LeFevre. Were they both born in Cumberland Co. PA? I know they lived in Stark County Ohio in the late 1830's but know nothing before that. They later moved to Wells County Indiana.

I have letters authored by both Joseph and Elizabeth. I would like to correspond with any descendants.

Janet Cartwright

Hi Cousins.
My gggrandfather was also David L. LeFevre. My ggrandfather was the youngest son, Eugene Rex. He moved south to Alabama around the turn of the century with his wife Katherine Cronkhite and only son Rex (my grandfather). My father was born in Atlanta and so was I. I am the only surviving child and the last LeFevre in our line. We have hardly no information on this family but I do have lots of photos and have been researching what little info I have found on the back. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Kim

Re: LeFevre early 1800's France - from Paris and Seltz.

This is an update to my LeFevre's.

Charles Louis LeFevre is the son of Charles Nicolas and Catherine Serard (or Perard). He was supposedly born in or near Paris.

Our family history says he was a body guard for Napoleon. Most likely he served in one of the elite guard units.

He was wounded at the Battle of Waterloo.

His children were born in 1796, 1799, 1802, 1805, 1806, 1808, 1809, 1812 and 1817 all in Seltz France. According to the civil records in Seltz they seem to say Charles Louis was from Paris. I checked Paris indexes on Microfilm but haven't found him in Paris. Perhaps he was from the area around Paris. Also I still do not know exactly what unit or branch of Napoleon's army he served in.

Descendant Indented Chart

Charles Nicolas LeFevre (3082)
+Catherine Perard (3083)
\-- Charles Louis LeFevre (227), b. circa 1764, d. 19 Jun 1826 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France
+Catherine Ziegler (3072), b. circa 1767, m. before 1796, d. 18 Jul 1805 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France
|-- Maria Catherine LeFevre (3075), b. 19 Aug 1796 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France
|-- Helen LeFevre (3076), b. 18 Apr 1799 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France
|-- Dorothea LeFevre (3074), b. 17 Nov 1802 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France
\-- Marie Julienne LeFevre (3073), b. 11 Apr 1805 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France, d. 1 Feb 1809 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France
+Mary Ann Hoerd (2930), b. 9 Apr 1780 at Schaffhousen, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France, m. 12 Aug 1805 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France, d. between 1843 and 1850
|-- Charles Napoleon LeFevre (1309), b. 17 Mar 1806 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France, d. before 2 Oct 1863 at Montoursville, Lycoming Co., PA
|-- Marie Marguerithe LeFevre (196), b. 9 Jan 1808 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France, d. 24 Sep 1865 at Cherry Township, Sullivan Co, PA
|-- Caroline LeFevre (201), b. 6 Dec 1817 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France, d. 27 Jan 1901
|-- Francois Joseph LeFevre (3070), b. 9 Aug 1809 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France
\-- Marie Caroline LeFevre (3071), b. 4 Apr 1812 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France, d. 26 Dec 1812 at Seltz, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France
Julie Lefevre

I am looking for information connecting Julie (Jullian, Julie Ann, Julia) Lefevre to the Sheffers of York Co. I believe that Julie married Michael Sheffer who was born Dec. 19, 1810 and died May 28, 1898. They had one son, Henry Sheffer who was born Jun 4, 1838 and died Jan 3, 1916. I thought that Julie died in childbirth. But I found a Michael and Julia Sheffer in the 1870 census of Spring Garden, York Co, PA. Listed right above them was the family of John Lefever. John Lefever is 50 yrs. old and his wife is Catherine. They have 9 children listed. Listed with Michael and Julia are 2 daughters, Sarah and Julia, ages 20 and 18. If anyone has any info about this family it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

One of my ancestors was Francoise LeFevre b 1694 or 1696, possibly Nantes, France? She married her first husband in Canada. He was Louis Denis De Bonaventure. They had three children together before his death in New Orleans in 1726. The children were possibly born in Louisiana or Mobile, Alabama. She then married Joseph Petit, probably in Louisiana.
I am trying to find out about the parents of Francoise LeFevre. I saw them listed as Jacques LaFevre and Francoise Auguet. I would appreciate any information.
Thankyou,
Teresa

Lefevre/Hartman Marriage Date

am searching for the marriage date of Susanna LEFEVRE/LEFEVER (b. 22 Jan 1776, d. 12 Apr 1838) and Jacob HARTMAN (b. 24 Nov 1768, d. 08 Apr 1846). I have extensive information regarding these individuals and their three children, Lydia, Christian and Susanna, but I've had no luck with finding a marriage date. The date listed in the LDS Church's IGI is 1846 - which is Jacob's death date. Anyone with information or access to Lancaster Co. primary sources is encouraged to contact me so that we may exchange information. Regards, Casey
