Brother & Sister Leona Frances Legro & Leo Stanley Legro - Bohemia, Cechy, WI, NE, OK Connections

SERENDIPITY: On page 180 of the Nov-Dec 1989 issue of Everton's "The Genealogical Helper" magazine is a delightful photo of little Leona Frances & Leo Stanley Legro, brother and sister.

Leo Stanley Legro was born 14 Nov 1884 at Tisch Mills, Wisconsin and Leona Frances was born 04 June 1886. The picture was made circa 1888-89 by J. Rose, Photographer.

The children's parents are Wenzel Legro born 09 Sept 1855, Mishicott, WI, and Josephine Schauer born 19 Mar 1864 in WI.

The Casper Legro family immigrated to the United States between 1851-54 from Mirovice, Bohemia.

The Wenzl Saur family immigrated to America in 1857 from Kozojed, Cechy.

Leo Stanley Legro married Lydia Ross on 15 April 1911 and died 21 Nov 1920 in Omaha, NE. They had two children, Wayne Leo Legro and Monta K. Legro.

Leona Frances Legro married Fred Frame Tilden on 18 Dec 1910 at Taylor, Nebraska. They had one child, Gladys Lucille Tilden. Leona Frances is the grandmother of the submitter's husband, Thomas Nash Haidek. The submitter is Martha Da Lee Haidek, Oklahoma City, OK.

Please reference that issue for further details.

Hopefully, this "snippet" will provide just the right clue to a researcher. I know how difficult tracing individuals from one country to another can be.
