Hi guys,

The Bob Lenon from Gilgandra was my grandfather, he died in 1986. I come from the same line as you William, I believe your mother and my grandfather were brother and sister. My Grandfather was Robert EW Lenon (Bob), his son Richard Lenon is my father. I have photos of that side of the family, will put them up. I've been researching the WW1 period when Frank was KIA, the death of his father and am really interested in finding out more about Annie Dwyer...who would be your grandmother. I'm going to Tumut, her birthplace, on Monday to do a bit of poking around.

Brooke Lenon

Sarah Annie Lenon and William Robert Quick Mitchell had 4 children- George William, Ellen Lorna, Robert Quick & John Hugh Francis.
George had 3 sons- Hugh Richard, William Ross & Gary Robert.
Hugh Richard is my father.

Dad has had a Bob Lenon come and visit a couple of times in the last year. Bob placed an ad in the echuca local paper looking for relatives. He's from up NSW way. Do you know him?
I have a few pics of some of the Mitchell's. Still working on that side of the family. Not many photos etc left in our line.
Have got some pics of the Lenon's that I have got from others. Although I do have some pictures of Sarah Annie Lenon in her later days.

Allison

Dear Allison Simpson

G J Lenon was about the same number of greats back for me.

A native of Carlow Island where his family had a castle.

He was a officer in the Territorial South Down regiment and joined the Regular Army 66 Reg of Foot Iniskillings in Ireland.

Was seconded to the Portugese forces as a major of Brigade during the Peninsular war and served the King of Portugal for some years after.

He migrated to Tasmania Brunei Island and later returned to live out his life in Dublin.

So, do we have the same man.

If this does not identify him give me your line of decent and I will check my records as I have most of the Australian line and Irish connections.

Regards

William

Hi Narelle,

I am a descendant of John Lenon and am also in Australia.
Your post was years ago, so you probably have the info by now. But the Lenon's all started in Australia in Tasmania.
There have actually been 3 John Lenon's in Oz. Im assuming yours is the latest one- 1855 to 1935. His name was John Fitzmaurice Lenon. Married to Anna Maria Maslen. His Parents were John Fitzmaurice Lenon and Sarah McCracken.
Where do you fit in??

I'm looking for information about my g grandparents, William Frank & Margaret Ann Lenon (she also went by Maggie). My grandmother was Myrtle Marie Lenon, who married Charles Nelson Willard. She had a sister, that I know of named Agnes Kemino of Portland, OR. Both William & Margaret are buried in the Pioneer Cemetery, Salem, OR. Does anyone know anything about their parents?

Hi Shelly, the Vivian Clayton in my files was probably born sometime in the 1940's. Her father, Walter Homer Clayton was born in 1916. There are other Clayton's in the Iowa area where my relatives lived. Once the 1930 Census are all indexed, it will probably be possible to locate the parents of your Vivian Clayton. Good luck.
