Good Day, My husband is also a decendant of Valentine Lepley and Margaret Scott. Their daughter Mary Ann Lepley married Cyrus Burton Rowen (b Sept 13 1858, d. July 9 1944). Their son Sidney Ralph Rowen (b June 23 1883, d June 14 1969) married Viola Belle Klick (b Feb 28 1889 d. Jan 5 1966). Their daugther Effie Leon Rowen (b Feb 15 1911) is my husband's grandmother (She is still living 97 years old!).

Just curious - it was rumored that the family was some how connected with Joseph Smith (Mormon leader). I would be happy to share what I have gathered and would appreciate information and treasure pictures you may have to share!
Thanks!

Benjamin Nicholas LEPLEY

I have found several Family Trees that say that Benjamin Nicholas LEPLEY was born in 1788 in Stepney, christened at St Dunstan's in 1788.
Also that he married Mary PACK in 1810 at St Dunstan's Stepney.
Unfortunately no-one gives a citation. I could assume someone actually referred to the registers, but that would go against my current rigorous methods. To save a visit and time at the London Metropolitan Archives, can someone confirm any of the above facts from original lookups, rather than unsourced trees?
Any help will be much appreciated, so that I can update my SLEE/BOOTH Family Tree website: http://nbepiphany.co.uk
Thanks
John Graham SLEE

My Great Grandmother Mildred Elizabeth Kelly was born in Prospect, Butler COunty, PA in 1874. She was raised by a "Grandma Lepley ", that being Virginia "Jennie" Kelly Lepley. I know nothing of Virginia. She could have been my GG Grandmother. All records I have show nothing of VIrginia ever having a daughter named Mildred, so I am thinking that maybe Mildred was either raised by a relative, or perhaps she was born out of wedlock to VIrginia Kelly. If anyone has Virginia Kelly Lepley in their line or knows something about her, please contact me thru this list. Thank you

Henry Leppey of Philadelphia?

I've been searching for family beyond two of my ancestors, Sarah Iseminger, born 1 Jun 1788, died 23 Jan 1828, married Joseph Lavell/Lavill/Lavalle/etc. on 8 Nov 1808, who was b 6 Nov 1787 in Philadelphia, died 12 Feb 1825.

Today, I found a will abstract that seems very possibly my Sarah:

LEPPEY, HENRY. Philadelphia, Penna. July 29, 1818. January 15, 1820. 7.92.
Estate to my cozen: Elizabeth Ireminger [sic]of same place, widow. At her death said estate to Adam Iseminger and Sarah Lovell. Exec: Adam Iseminger. Wit: Joshua Raybold, James W. Raybold.

It's possible that "Leppey" is really "Lepley" or variant -- does anyone have information about this Henry and his relatives (cousin Elizabeth, etc.)?

Many thanks in advance!

Brenda
breneda@gmail.com
It sounds like you may have ascendant info that I would be very interested to know more about.

I have some information on Samuel and Elizabeth's descendants, as their daughter Hannah (Lepley) Otto was my ggrandmother. If we're really talking about the same family, then your parents must live in the Ithaca, Michigan area.

Your posting on this bboard is quite old - I hope you will receive this as I am very excited to have seen you message and to get more info on the Lepley family.

Re: Virginia "Jennie" Kelly Lepley

Hi Mary,

Virginia 'Jennie' Kelly Lepley had a daughter Margaret May and another daughter Annie (or Anna) Christina. However, it is possible that she had another daughter because according to the 1900 census she is listed as having had FOUR children with FOUR living, yet only three, that I know of can be located in the 1900 census. Two are living with Virginia and her husband John Lepley and one is married by 1900 that being Annie. Now if Mildred was married by then she wouldn't be listed under her maiden name which naturally makes it hard to track her parents. E-mail me as we have talking about Jennie before and traded the same picture. I haven't worked on this line for a while.

Jackie

I'm looking for infomation on my ggrandfather, Leroy Lepley, b. 29 June 1886 in Somerset Co., PA. He moved to Johnstown and worked for the Cambria Steel Co as a locomotive engineer. He married Martha HOFFMAN around 1909 and had three children, Margaret (b. 1910), Martha (b. 1913) and Leroy (b. 1917). I'm stuck on tracing back further than him.

After another look over some census reports, I finally ascertained that the Leroy Lepley (b. 29 June 1886) I've been looking for (see other post on this forum) is actually the son of Millard F. Lepley and Louise Emma Burkett, who are buried in the Lepley family cemetery in Southampton Twp., Somerset Co., PA. I'm quite interested in touching base with any other Lepley descendents through Millard.

I've seen the Kirchenbucher Diefenbach records for Hans Michael Lapple and family and am wondering what our source for that particular information is? Is it Konrad Lapple?

I've also received the impression that the Adam Lepley's original bible, with Adam Jr.'s handwritten genealogy, is lost. Anyone know when it was lost? Who had it last?

Also, Ms. Archer's post of a few years ago had a verbatim transcription of these records, at least the first few paragraphs. Is the whole thing transcribed anywhere, possibly in Maugerite's work, which I have yet to obtain a copy?

Thanks!
