RICHFIELD SPRINGS â€” Paulene D. Letnow, 94, of 5 Walnut St., died on Monday, July 20, 1998, in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
She was born on July 3, 1904, in Richfield Springs, a daughter of the late Frank N. and Josephine Lawler Dibble.
A lifelong Richfield Springs resident, she was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School and went on to graduate from the Albany School of Practical Nursing.
On June 26, 1920, she married John W. Letnow in Saint Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. It was a blessed union of 50 years until Mr. Letnow's passing on June 28, 1974.
Paulene was a nurse by profession, she had worked for the Ilion Hospital and Clark Nursing Home retiring in 1965.
She was a member of Saint Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs, the Catholic Women's Club, the Rosary Altar Society and the Richfield Springs Senior Citizens Club.
Surviving her are one son, John F. and his wife, Gloria Jean Letnow of Richfield Springs; three sisters, Jeanette Smith of Springfield Center, Eileen Dibble and Marline Lander both of Richfield Springs and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Bernard and Joseph F. Dibble, and a sister, Regina Clark.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs, with the Rev. Francis Husselbeck, pastor officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to Richfield Springs Emergency Squad or the charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are with the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 5 West James St., Richfield Springs.
