I am also looking for Frances Lesniak. My Frances was married to a Robert Bowers. Believe she was remarried at a later date. Robert & Frances had a son by the name of Walter Merle Bowers, dob 23 Sep 1894 in New Castle, Lawrence Cty, PA.

My great-grandmother was born Franciska Lesniak, married Dziuban, and they lived in Westmoreland County, PA. Not sure if this might be who you are looking for?

My gr gr grandmother was Sophie Lesniak who was born abt. 1860 probably in poland. She married Simon Klimas and they had at least two sons. One being John Klimas who came to America at a young age by himself. His brother stayed and joined the Polish Army. But, I haven't been able to find any further info on Sophie. You seemed to have a lot of info from Poland that could be helpful. Let me know and thank you in advance.

Looking for anyone knowing a Josef (Joseph) Janik that immigrated from Nowy Sacz (spelling??) and married maybe a Bernice (last name ??) in Canada. They had no children.Josef's mother was (I believe) Victoria (Wyctorya) Antolak Janik living in southern Poland around Sieniawa. Josef had a brother in Sieniawa (name??). Victoria's parents were Josef and Anna Antolak.Josef was in the concentration camp during the 2nd war and had a very hard time, eating grass to survive.He died in Canada Year??? We were not notified when he died. Sieniawa, Nowy Sacz and Raba Wzyna (where my father was born) are within miles of each other. Any info appreciated. Thanks, Krysia

Strange, my grandparents were Edith and Louis Lesniak. Both lived in Chicago all of their lives. Well Elgin really, but close enough.

I'm looking for information on Sophie Lesniak. She was my gr-gr-grandmother. She married Simon Klimas probably in Poland. As far as I know they had two sons, John and Jacob. John came to America when he was 14. Jacob is believed to of been lost at war time as Polish Army.

I have several hundred records about Kokolus Family in Galicia/Polland from 1702 to 1900. There are more records about Joseph Kokolus. Two of them are probably usefull for you: First one Josephus K. 4.4.1883-25.2.1951(probably visited USA 20.6.1909, Ellis Island, registered as Yosef Kokalus) and second one is Josephus K. born 24.3.1884, immigrated to USA 5.1.1905 (to brother Nikolaj and sister Anna jointed them later in 1913). pls replay if interested.

My paternal g-parents’ grand-daughter married a BOB LESNIAK, living in Scranton, PA. Her maiden name would have been COLOWITS or some derivative of that.

My paternal Hungarian g-mother’s maiden name was IGNATKO, IGNACZ -- you are searching for IGNOTUS

My paternal Hungarian / Serbian g-father’s name was Americanized to KOSITCH. At Ellis Island it was written as KOSZICS, the Serbian spelling may have been KOSIC -- you are searching for KOSTICK

I am the granddaughter of Walter (Wladek) "Eddie" Lesniak of Massachusetts. He was born in 1923, served in WWII either in the Navy or Coast Guard. He died in 1949. He was one of 11 children of John and Mary Lesniak. I know next to nothing about this man or his family, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

In the meantime, I'll try to do a little more research on my great-grandmother, Mary LESNIAK, and see if I can dig up anything about her brothers/sisters/parents, etc. Who knows? Maybe Mary and Walter were siblings! Or, related somehow, I hope!

Hi Eric, My grandfather was born in Poland. He was married to Anna. They had 18 children. 9 survived. I really don't know if my grandfather had any brothers or sisters. Could be a cousin. Well, you're definitely not the Mary I'm referring to in my original post, as I estimate her date of birth to be around 1860-ish!

But, I'm wondering if there's possibly a connection, here. My great-grandmother was Mary LESNIAK, married to Frank LAZAR. I know of only three of their children (Michael, Paul and Agatha).

I really don't know anything about Mary LESNIAK, right now (brothers? sisters?), but hope to find out something from my mother, either today, or tomorrow. Do you know anything about your grandfather (Walter LESNIAK)? Where he (or his parents) came from? Siblings? Parents? Dates?

Mary, my birthmother dated Thomas when he stationed in Long Beach back 1958. She was a United Airlines employee. He left on a West Pacific cruise in the springtime and she came back to Chicago. She was pregnant and Thomas was her first and only! She wrote him on the Hornet, but never heard from him. Who knows if he even received the letter. Anyway, I am here, alive and well! I was born November 8, 1959, in Chicago and given up for adoption immediately. NO REGRETS...my parents were great! I had the best of everything. At the age of 40, I decided to pursue the search for by birthmother which led me to find out about my birthfather. Please tell me I have found him and that you have pictures you can send me. I don't look like my birth mother, but she said I look like him. PLEASE HELP! Do I have any siblings? My birthmother never had other children, so there are none on that side. I would love to see who I look like. I have three kids, Joe, 9 1/2, Victoria, 6 1/2 and Zachary will be 4 on April 8th. My husband, Joe, and I will be married 12 years this May 21st. My name was shortened and that's why it is koke.My father is 80 year's old and is joseph kokolus's son and he could anwser alot of your question's. Hello Everyone -- Does anyone know of the Lesniak family who lived on Enterprise St. in McKeesport, PA?? I think her maiden name is Orenyak or Orenak. She was my father's godmother (also my aunt's) and while I don't know her husband's name for sure, it might have been Onufer. (She did have a son, Andrew, who died in 1996) She would have been friends with Demko Wozniak & his wife Zofia (Sporniak). I know nothing about her, when her son, Andrew, filled out her SS application he put unknown for everything. Is there anyone you can ask? It does sound like the same person, again - she went on to marry George (Americanized from Onufer) Lesniak & on the 1930 census she had 3 children, Anna, Andrew, & Harry.

He started the Roosevelt soft water bottle company with his wife Eva. They had 10 children with my Mother who is now 85 being the oldest. My grandfather died in 1953. I find it interesting that we could have a grandfather with the information.

The family of Ynifer lived mainly near Allentown. I find him on the 1910 census in Lehigh Co PA single, living near Joseph Kokolus b 1879. Thanks.

My cousin's name was Barbara Orenak and she did live in Glassport, PA when we were children. I don't know her married name, but the likelihood of her being the same person is very good. If this is the same person, her father is Joseph and mother is Irene, brother name Gregory and sister named Alexandria.

My name is Wojciech Lesniak
I am looking for the Lesniak family that settled in New Jersey in early 1900. I know that the my great grandfathers brother Leon Lesniak emigrated to USA during this period from Piwniczna in Southern Poland- then known as an Austrian province of Galicia. All contact with the USA part of the family stopped when we stopped getting letters in early 1970. I know he had kids who could not speak polish.

By the way there is no such name as Stanley in Polish. This was the name that was used by Poles whose name was Stanislaw or Staszek when they came to USA. As this did not exist in English they used Stanley. If you are looking for the parish records in Poland (in most of the country they go back go back to 1815).

Looking for information on Cecelia/George/Anna Lesniak, lived on the north side of Chicago, 1920's. Cecelia gave birth to twin daughters in 1928 and put them up for adoption, they were adopted by Rosemary and Harrison Heater. They were baptized at St. Aloysius Church, 2300 W. LeMoyne, Chicago on 5-27-1928.
