Arthur Lessel is pictured in the 1942 yearbook of the Goodfellow Field class 42-I of aviation cadets. Goodfellow Field was in San Angelo, TX. He was also a student at Michigan State Normal.

i have lessel married into my family also .they are from new albany and pontotoc and tupelo are also. they are joseph lessel ,marvin lessel and james alton lessel.two of them married my great aunt and one married my first cousin.

I am seeking any information about the background of my grandmother, Bertha or Birdie Lessle who was born on March 15th in either 1878, 1879, or 1880. She had family ties with people by the name of Rucker, Minor, Vallier, and Altheimer. She always claimed to have been born in Louisiana, but it is known that in her youth she spent considerable time in Kentucky and Arkansas. She lived for several years in the Pine Bluff area in Jefferson County, Arkansas where she had a long romance with a wealthy plantationer by the name of Louis Altheimer, by whom she bore two sons. Bertha had a brother (half brother?) named Marcus Rucker, and a sister (half sister?) named Mary Minor. Do any of these names ring a bell with any Lessle researcher? Please help. Looking for information on the Lessel's in Itawamba,Union and surounding areas in Mississippi. My Great Grandmother had a brother his name was Sylvester Lessel. I do not know if she had other sisters or brothers or not. I do know she married Peter Rowland and there children were Will, Betty, Bessie married Sam Dillard,Josie/Sophie married Sam Dillard's brother, Maude married into the Hester's and my Grandfather Jerry Alson Rowland married Martha Jane McClure. Tom I received your message and the only Lessel I have heard of so far was Manervi Lessel which would be my Great Grandmother I do not know where she was born but I do know that she married Peter Rowland and they had 5 or 6 children in Itawamba County Mississippi which is right near Tupelo.
