Hello,
The plot thickens then! Search Google images for Charles Algernon Parsons. I thought my grandmother looked like him but my father said his grandfather was the image of him. It would be interesting to see if he resembled your Hugo. I suspect that the children were born in Ireland, at or near Birr Castle. Charles was a son of the Earl of Rosse.
I will let you know if I ever find any certificates. Keep looking.

That's interesting. I'm afriad haven't been able to find any birth certificates and have drawn a bit of a blank. My mum said that her grandad, hugo, was also known as douglas parsons. Let you know if i do ever find anything out!

Hello Elaine,
George Lionel Leston was my father's grandfather. The family story is that George was the illegitimate son of Sir Charles Algernon Parsons and a servant. Sir Charles paid for George's schooling. I found George on the 1881 Census with his mother Fanny and his brother Henry. Fanny was living with more of her children in the 1901 Census. I have not been able to find any birth certificates for any of the Lestons. Do you have one for Hugo? Do you know anything about any of the other children?

Hello,
I've just started looking into family tree and came across your message. I've been following this family, Hugo Leston was my mum's grandfather. I have traced it back until 1881 when fanny was living in Derby aged 25 but can't seem to find any more out.
I see you posted a few years ago but would be great to hear from you and ind out more.
