I also have a family by the name of Kohl, and this seems to be <br>German as well. Since the Polarks came from Posen Poland, there is a possibility, the Letcher's were also from here, and considered themselves German and not Polish. My Polish ancestors said at one time they were from Germany on the US census, then later it's changed to Poland. Do you know the German spelling of Letcher?
