Nancy Letson
I am trying to locate Church of Scotland and other referenced records for Robert Sloan and his wife, Nancy Ann Sloan nee Letson.
Robert Sloan(e) and Nancy (Nancy Ann) Letson or Lotson Sloan were in the Dorchester Township, Middlesex county area of Ontario, Candada around 1852 and moved on to Bosanquet Township near Sarnia in Lambton County, Ontario, Candada and then to the United States around 1862. They may have had up to four children born in Canada; Samuel, Robert, Jane (married Palmer Kellogg and lived near London, Ontario for a short period of time) and perhaps John. Samuel was the oldest and was born 22 October 1852, perhaps near Kitchner or Forrester, Ontario. I do not know when and where they were married, but I suspect it was around 1848 to 1851.
US CENSUS DATA FOR ROBERT Sloan (E) and NANCY ANN Letson or LETSEN indicates that
Robert was born in Scotland or Ireland approximately 1803 to 1820 in either Ireland or Scotland.
Nancy Ann was born approximately 1830 in Ireland. Her parents were born in Scotland.
Their first recorded child was Samuel who was born 22 October 1852 In London or Forester, Ontario, Canada.
They were members of the Church of Scotland.
They may have immigrated from County Antrim in Ireland and may have traveled or live near other families with the following surnames:
Clark (Hugh, Joseph and William)
Russell
Kernohna
Stephenson
They reportedly settled first near Dorchester Township, Middlesex county in Ontario, Canada.
