My Grandfather (William Lev b. Jan 2, 1900) told me before he died that his grandparents settled in Cedar Falls, IA around 1885. His Father was named Albert Lev and his Mother was Mary Benda. I think he said his Aunt was first to come here (from Bohemia, I assume) with her husband Frank Viner. My grandfather changed the name from Bovshover to Lev. He was born in Ukraine, grew up in Germany, and then fled to Palestine. He married Margalit Bruchstein. His father was Lova Bovshover.

Any more information on the Levs or Bovshovers would be appreciated.

I'm looking for Leff's anywhere. It was orginally spelled
Lev. William was in So. Dakota, but came from Montana in
the Broadus area. There was also a James and a Tony Leff
who was brothers. The father immigrated from Bohemia and
had 9 children.
