Roland Lee Levesque, Gorham
GORHAM, NH – Roland Lee Levesque, age 41, passed away peacefully in the evening hours of Sunday, February 1, 2009 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Roland was born in Berlin on October 12, 1967, a son of Raymond E. and Rollande G. (Croteau) Levesque. He attended local schools and was a 1985 graduate of Berlin High School. Roland had lived in Nashua for a time and it was there that he met his wife, Chris (Chiasson). They moved back to Gorham in 1998 and made their home on Second Street. He was employed as an Oil Burner Technician for Munce's, and was the former owner of White Hills Maintenance. Roland was also a co-owner of P.M.S., Pavement Management Specialists.
Even with the demands of his work, Roland still found time to visit with "the boys" for their meetings in the "garage." He enjoyed hunting and fishing, snowmobiling with friends and family. His greatest love however was for his children. He looked forward to backyard campfires with them, and enjoyed passing the winter months playing games like Yahtzee and Boggle with his family. He also had a great knack for always winning at Monopoly even when he was down to $5. Roland was especially known for a good laugh. Anyone who knew him well knew his sense of humor. He was not afraid to humiliate himself in some sort of silly costume to get a laugh. He will be sadly missed.
Roland is survived by his mother, Rollande G. Levesque of Berlin; his wife, Chris; and his children Chelsea, Douglas and Katrina all of Gorham; his brother, Rene Levesque and his wife Jill of Milan; and his sister Elaine St. Onge and her husband Denis of Milan; his in-laws Gerard and Doris Chiasson of Nashua; his sisters-in-law, Kathy Gerow of Nashua, Theresa Hamlin and her husband John of Merrimack; and his brother-in-law Jay Chiasson and his wife Karen of Jaffrey, NH; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond E, Levesque, his sister Nancy Levesque and his nephew Craig St. Onge.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 and Thursday February 5, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin using the School Street entrance.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 6, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant Street in Berlin.
Interment will immediately follow the services in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cates Hill Road in Berlin.
