Can anyone please help with this query? On the 1871 census there are the household members,including a servant with the same surname as the head of family. Could this be a sister living in the household in return for household duties, etc. If this is the case, it seems rather a disrespectful title for a family member. personally, I think she must be the sister of the head of family.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I have searched for her separately and will continue to do so, but so far, she just crops up in the same family.
