I am a descendant of a William J. Lewallen (abt 1800 thru 1840's). He was born in Virginia. He married Susanna Tyler on 6 Aug 1821 in Bedford Co, VA. His parents have never been identified to my knowledge.
I did some online record searches. In the 1820 census, the only Lewallen listed in Bedford Co, VA was a Green B. Lewallen. In his household there was a young male between 16 and 25 years old. This might be William.
I looked further into Green B. Lewallen. He was born 15 Mar 1792 to Charles Lewallen and Elizabeth Harrison Lewallen in Campbell Co, VA. He married an Elizabeth Carter on 1 Jan 1810, also in Campbell Co. He served in the Virginia Militia during the War of 1812.
Green B. Lewallen and Elizabeth Carter apparently had at least two daughters: Frances Harrison (1815) who married David Poe and Lucinda T. (1811).
Charles Lewallen and Elizabeth Harrison also had two other sons beside Green B.: Charles Lewallen, born 1792 (m. Mary Akers) and John Lewallen, born 1800.
I am looking for information on anyone mentioned in this post. I think my William is likely the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Harrison) Lewallen. But, this is only conjecture at this point.
