I am looking for John LEWANDOWSKI who married Mary CIEMNA (I'm not sure if this is correct spelling) in the late 1800s in Philadelphia, PA. They had a son, Joseph Thomas LEWANDOWSKI, born 13 Jan 1900 in Philadelphia, PA. He was baptised in St. Stanislaus Church is Philadelphia and these two people were listed as his parents.

John LEWANDOWSKI had three children from his first marriage to Mary, one being a daughter named Stella or maybe Estella born 26 Oct 1897 in Philadelphia. She went on to marry a Frank JOHNSON and James MITCHELL. Another is a son possibly named John Stephen born 02 Oct 1895 but later changed his named to BLATCHER.

John's first wife, Mary, died and he married a widow named Anna BLATCHER who had three children of her own, Joseph or Stephen, Anna, and Frances Stephen BLATCHER born 12 Jun 1885.

John and Anna had three children of their own, Mary, Veronica, and one unknown LEWANDOWSKI. When John's second wife, Anna, died, he placed the BLATCHER children in a catholic orphanage. He kept the children from his first and second marriages. However, it has been reported that two of the LEWANDOWSKI sons, Joseph Thomas and John Stephen, either were thrown out or left their father's home in Philadelphia. These two boys changed their name to BLATCHER.

Joseph Thomas BLATCHER is my husband's grandfather. He married Anna Kline, born 21 Apr 1905, on 07 Jun 1922 in Lost Creek No. 2, Schuylkill Co., PA. They had five children, Joseph John, Ralph, Dorothy, Evelyn, and Eleanor. Joseph Thomas died in 1947 in Philadelphia, PA.

I do not have any information regarding the LEWANDOWSKI family. I was told that John LEWANDOWSKI was Polish, didn't speak English, and may have moved to NJ and had a pig farm.
