I'm looking for information on Oren Francis DuVal he married Mary Belle Godwin DuVal and had two daughters Eva and Frances he died in 1954 in Lebanon, Oregon. Both he and his wife are buried in Oregon.
At the time of his death his mother and sister were still livig in Portland, Oregon Mrs. Mary Holloway and Bertha Gibson. Any information on his family as well as any siblings and his parents would be great.

Noah Lewman, son of Caleb and Elizabeth Lewman ,was b abt 1773; he d. Fleming County, KY Noah Lewman was a veteran of the War of 1812 (KY.) Noah Lewman as stated in this Message Board married Mary Ann Harrison (b MD 17775), daughter of Thomas Harrison (d. 1825/will probate 1829 Fleming Co., KY.) Noah Lewman moved from MD to PA, then to KY.

To my knowledge there were two sons in Asa's 1st Marriage:
Elijah H.Lewman, b 30 Sep 1801 (possibly in MD.) Elijah married Priscilla Burris Sep 1825. He died 2 Dec 1852, possibly in Lewis Co., KY. From notes written in 1983, the children of Elijah Lewman (b 1801) were Margaret A., b 1832, Burroughs A b. 1835, William b, abt 1837, and Elizabeth b.? I see today that Burris is spelled Burroughs!

(I note from the thread that there was at least one other child, born to Elijah)

A second son of Noah Lewman and Mary Ann Harrison was Asa B. Lewman b 7 Jun 1809. He married Margaret Burris 28 August 1834. Asa B. Lewman d 29 Dec 1901 Wallingford, Fleming Co., KY. Priscilla Burris d 1850 Wallingford, KY.
Children born to Asa Lewman and Priscilla Burris:
(1) Sustilda b 1835, m. Joel D. Saunders (s/o George Saunders). 1855, Fleming Co.., KY.
(2) Priscilla Ellen b 5 Dec 1837, m Robert H. Saunders (s/o George Saunders) 10 Oct 1856 Fleming Co, KY. Priscilla E. Lewman d 14 Oct 1927. NOTE; THIS IS MY DIRECT LINE; PLEASE CONTACT ME AT saundersws@aol.com)
(3) Mary Jane b 1839-40, m Andrew Jackson Saunders (s/o George Saunders) 1858 Fleming Co., KY
(4) William Manus b 19 Jan 1842 Wallingford, Fleming Co., KY, m. 27 Dec 1865 Wallingford, Fleming Co., KY Julia Hinton, William Manus d 5 Feb 1927, burial 6 Feb 1927, both events Wallingford, Fleming Co., KY. NOTE; I have a margin note that William Manus Lewman served in the Civil War for the North, "B" Co, 16 Reg., KY Inf.
(5) Nancy Anna b 1848-9 KY? m 1875 Fleming Co., KY Taylor Humphries.
(6) James b.1850 (not validated)

Asa Lewman’s second marriage was to Sarah C. Saunders, daughter of George Sa(u)nders of Fleming Co., KY. Asa Lewman and Sarah C. Saunders were married 28 Mar 1860.
Children: Hiram F. m Sarah Agnes Petty, d/o H.F. & Sarah Petty. Here it starts to get sketchy (notes are 25 years old) --Hiram F. and Sarah A, Petty had a son Hiram Wallingford Lewman. Hiram F. was shot by a Doctor in 1905, son Hiram W was sent to an orphanage in Tiffin, OH.

CONCLUSION- I need your kind assistance on two men in the above Lewman genealogies. First, I need the parents and spouse of Thomas Harrison (d. 1825), the father of Mary Ann Harrison who married Noah Lewman. Second, I also am lost on the parents of George Saunders, three of whose sons married children of, and a daughter married, Asa Lewman.. The mother of the three sons --George Saunders's wife--was Amelia Truitt (and I know noting about Amelia either.)

My husband's family is related to John Amon Lewman through his son Richard Francis Lewman. Richard's wife, Daisy Viola Badger, is our common thread as her grandmother, Elma Ruble Badger Rose was married to my husband's gggf Andrew Jackson Rose of Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon. I've a couple of pictures of Daisy and her family if anyone is interested and would be interested in sharing other research material.

My husband is a member of the Blankley family. I am confused by George's wives. Please help me out. Did George married Cathrine Looman on 11-2-1818 and Elizabeth Looman on 4-13-1845? I think we have a connection through the Smiths. Your Robert Francis Smith, son of Tillman and Mary Smith, is the younger brother of my GGGfather Gilbert Smith. Gilbert Smith is buried in Moscow, Idaho with connections to Whatcheer, Iowa.

I am also A grandson of a fredrick charles lewman from Kc
My fathers name is also Fredrick charles lewman.
We might be related both his father and my father lived in Kc for a time. My grandfather now lives in Tulsa Oklahoma and is remarried after my grandma died back in 2000.

I have alot of Luman family on my dad's side. But I am not sure about the Bean as my resources have turned out and am trying to find the right one. Keep in touch and I will soon have the answer I hope. My dad was Owen Victor Luman md to Minnie Marie Dunnigan. Thanks for the reply. I've seen the Garfield county history references that you mentioned. Sorry, I don't know his middle name or where he came from or if he was married. Some civil war records indicate a William Lewman from Ohio and Kentucky. My guess is that he was born about 1840. I can't find him in the census records at ancesty.com. Perhaps when they finish the 1900 every name index he will show up so we'll know his month and year of birth. I've tried to search for other spellings such as Luman, etc. I suspect that he is buried in Cannonville or nearby. The Utah Historical Society has a burials database (incomplete) of about 300 of 500 known cemeteries. He isn't listed. My mother-in-law would like to get more Information for her book about Tropic and Garfield County. Keep in touch.

William Lewman was a Union soldier in the Civil War. He was a school teacher and surveyor in Garfield County in the 1880s and 1890s. My mother-in-law, June Shakespear, is writing a book on the town of Tropic, Utah. William helped survey the town site about 1889. I've found numerous references to him in the Garfield County County Commission Meeting Minutes (1882-1908). O.G. Anderson was paid $24 for William Lewman's burial in the 12 Oct 1904 meeting minutes. I am looking for information regarding a Palmer Blankley from Everett, Pa. He would have been the birth father of my Mother Gertrude (Wilson) Sullivan, who passed away two years ago. I hear he may have had a brother George who still lived in the Everett or Johnstown area during the 1960's. My Mom's mother's name was Ruth (Wilson) Carter.
