Hello,

I'm working on the LIERMAN family tree of West-Flanders, Belgium. My mother is Agnes Lierman. I have already a lot of information. I came across your question, because i'm looking for information on Maurice Lierman, a grand uncle who emigrated from Belgian to Michigan in 1913.
If I can help you, be welcome.

Jean-Marie Hoessen
Ruddervoorde
Belgium

Traci,

My 3rd great grandmother was named Magdalena M. Lierman. She was born in Baden, Germany. Her father's name was George Lierman. She lived in Missouri before later moving to Kansas. I believe she could be the sister of your Fred.... albeit half-sister as Magdalena's mother was from Germany as well?

Hello,
I have a Fred (Fredric G.) Lierman born in 1848. His family came here from Baden Germany. They had several children with them. I don't know where they had all traveled until they settled in the St. Louis area. On his obituary it stated that his father had two wives, and that at the time of his death he had a few half brothers and sisters in Missouri still. They also had the last name Lierman. He came from a family of butchers for their trade. This particular Fred also had a son named Fred and one named John (Jack). Fred Sr. moved to Iowa in 1874, and marrying Mary J. Hamilton in 1877. If this sound familiar please e-mail me at houston@mchsi.com Thank you for your time. Traci

Paula,
I do have some info on Carl F.H.Lierman. But I have 10 children with his first wife, and only one with Marie. (Theodore Ferdinand). Did Carl and Marie have more than one child? I have a list of Theodore and Amelia Charlson's children if you need them. (6 children). Have you heard of a Chester Theodore Lierman?

Nikki, just happened upon your message. Carl Friedrich Heinrich Liermann (b. 11 Feb. 1811 in Lahr, Baden, Germany) (d. 23 April, 1887 in Reading, Hamilton Co., Ohio) had 8 children. Among them was Theodore Ferdinand Liermann (b. 6 July 1858, died 4 June, 1917). The Liermann men were almost all butchers. Maybe you have all the information you need already. If not, e-mail me and I'll see if I can help. Paula

Carl Lierman

Am looking for information about my great grandfather's line. My great grandfather Ernest Frederick Lierman immigrated from Grimmen, Germany when he was a young man. He lived in Danville, Illinois where he married Minnie Lange. My great grandfather's father was Carl Lierman, married to Sophia Mutzhausen. I heard the name Lierman was at one time spelled as Liermann. At the time of my great grandfather's death (1964) one of his brothers lived in Milwaukee (Albert) and one brother lived in Germany (Max). I would appreciate any information anyone may have about this line of Liermans. Thanks.

I am trying to determine if this Anna Barbara Lierman married Johanas Michael Shuster. They had at least two daughers, Eva (born 1762) and Mary Magdaline (born 1774). Eva married John Yant. John and Eva died in Carroll County, Ohio.

Hi Carl,

I'm looking for any information regarding Frederick Liermann my friend's Great Grand father. He was the first generation to come to the US from Germany, I don't know how many children he had but I know that he had a son named Arthur Lierman (with one "n") which is my friend's grand father.

Let me know if you think that somehow you are connected. I would love it if I could get more info on my friend's family history.

Mary,
Hi! Don't know if I can help with your LIERMAN or not. I'm having just as much trouble as you are with this Surname. Do you know if you had any LIERMANS in the Cincinnati area? I don't know much about them myself, but I did have some in Cinti. around 1910. I had an Edward Lierman, and a Theodore Lierman. I believe they were brothers, but I have no idea who their parents were. My husband's grandfather spelled his last name with one N, but the grandfather's brother spelled his with two N's.

Nikki
