Hi, Jeff. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. These holidays really take up all my time. Anyhow, these are the Cherokee names for the clans: Aniwahiya or Wolf, Anikawi or Deer, Anidjiskwa or Bird, Aniwodi or Paint, Anisahoni perhaps meaning Blue, Anigotigewi perhaps meaning Wild Potato, and Anigilohi perhaps meaning Twister. This information came from the book "Cherokee Women, Gender and Culture Change, 1700-1835" by Theda Perdue on page 42. The footnote for this information states: "Payne Papers, 4:355, 6:202; William H. Gilbert, "Eastern Cherokee Social Organization" in Social Anthropology of North American Tribes, ed. Fred Eggan (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1955), 287; "Reflections," 45.
Although I don't speak ANY Cherokee, I have seen on several occasions the mention that Ga-Ho-Ga means Young Beautiful Woman or something like that and it was also a very common name.
Also, I don't have all of my info in front of me right now, but Nancy Lightfoot did marry James Foster, Sr. first and later married John Adair, Sr. I have also seen information listing Nancy Lightfoot's name as Ga-Ho-Ga Foster.
Hope this helps. Let me hear back from you. Kelly
