KINGSTON: Judith Spriggs, 68, of Kingston, Ohio passed from this life November 13, 2012 at Adena Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. (Ross County)

She was born June 17, 1944 in Ironton, Ohio (Lawrence County) to the late Millard and Genevieve Holsthuh Likens. She was also predeceased by her husband, Eddie Spriggs; and brother, Mike Likens.

Surviving are sister, Sue Likens; nephews, Mike (Angie) Likens and their children, Cierra and Mikey, Craig (Kristi) Likens and their nephews, Darren and Carson Byers; Eric (Heather) Likens and their son, Liam; niece, Michelle (Jake) Barber; great niece, Britany and her children, Trinity and Kaya; great nephew, Dustin (Jondah) Danner and their daughter, Kenleigh; two aunts and many cousins.

She retired from the Chillicothe Telephone Company in December of 2004 after 41 years.

Funeral services will be Saturday 1 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston, Ohio.
Friends may call at Hill's Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

I need information on Tipton Likens born abt 1844-1846 in Virginia. He had three children Upton 1883, Edith 1888, and Mary 1889. He was married to a Mittie Johnson who passed in 1890. He then married an Anne in about 1905. I have hit a wall with Tipton, he does not appear in a census till 1870 in Atlantic City, Wyoming Territory as a miner at the age of 22 I believe. Any help would be great

I have contacted the Texas Archives and have been told the photo taken when James B. Likens was in the Texas State Legislature was destroyed by fire.

i an searching for nannie likens who married william montgomery snavely in wythe county 1883. she lists her parents as samuell and catherine likens. nannie and william were my great-grandparents. appreciate anything on nannie likens family.

Family sources say that Sara[h] Likens Taylor was born 14 Oct. 1781 and died 9 Mar. 1844. She was the wife of Charles C. Taylor.
The dates for her mother, Susan, are 1755 for birth and 1830 for her death. Could I be so blessed as to find someone with some matching information?

Trying to find grandfather, Pearl Likens, and his father, Payton Likens, Pearl married Josephine Wynemma Lee in or around Kentucky or Ohio area. Looking for decendents of Likens or Josephine Lee decendents, her mother was Mary Priscilla Price, lived around Big Sandy River, her mom, Mary, was supposed to be Cherokee Indian. Josephine and Pearl had 12 children- William, Earl, Bruce, Raymond, Jimmy Joe, Bobby, Chalmer, Elous, Wanda, Loretta, Glenna, Mary Louise. Some has spelt their names Lycans, Lykins, Lycan, but the name on Williams birth ceritficate who was the first son, his dad spelt it Likens. He was 20 when William was born. My grandmother was only 15. She mentioned her mother could have been taken from the reservation in the Civil War. I still do not know who her father was. Glenna, Bobby, Chalmer, and Earl who is almost 80,are still alive. All others are decesed. Any info for family tree and indian hertiage would be appreciated.

I have 2 different marriages for both!

I have Matthew md to a Mary "Polly" Keow b. abt 1810

Mary Ann Likens (Lykins) md to Joseph Cole Turner b abt 1803 d. abt 18787 in IL

both Mary Ann's, gau of James M Likens (Lykins) and Jane A Young!!!

I am trying to locate a cousin who did the geneology and traced the family to two brothers from Sweden in the 1700's I believe. The work I have done is in a public Tree if you'd care to look. Thanks!

John Likens born Oct 4, 1834 in Pa; died Apr 9, 1906 in Nile Twp, Scioto Co., Ohio is buried in Scioto Co, Ohio McKendree Cemetery. He was married to Martha Copas, bor Sep 12, 1833 in Adams Co., Ohio and Died Dec 22, 1908. John's father was also John Likens born Apr 30, 1782 from Pa. He died in Adams Co., Ohio. I had exactly the same problem. My sketchy family information led me to the Nils Laicon / Christina Fish "line" that, according to the Swedish Colonial Society, does not exist. I found an alternative line that I believe is correct and is almost completely documentable. In my line what led us wrong was the family bible of a Greenough K. Lycan, my great-great-grandfather. You can see the line I sketched out by looking at my current three, but I do not have all of the source information filled in at this point. If you want me to keep you updated as I add sources, please respond and let me know. ALVA- Services for Howard C. Liken, 52, well-known
Avard grain buyer, were held Thursday in the Avard
highschool auditorium. Burial was in the Antelope
cemetery.

Liken died Monday night in the Alva General hospital.
He was in charge of the Avard grain elevator and was
well-known in southern Woods county, having come to
Avard 17 years ago.

Survivors include the wife, Dollie Liken; a brother,
Clarence Liken of Enid, and a sister, Mrs Dora Smith
of Oklahoma City.

My brother, Doyle D. Likens, Jr. passed away on February 24, 2009. He was born on November 29, 1968. He was 40 years old. Our father is Doyle D. Likens, Sr. and our mother is Gladys Likens. Doyle Jrs. sisters are Rachel Likens Cook and Michelle Likens. He had 3 children, Travis, Brittany and Tracy Likens. He was a grandfather of 1, Serena Nevaeh Likens, the daugther of Travis.

We have cousins, aunts and uncles we haven't seen in many years and would like to get in contact with again.

Doyle Likens, Sr. had 6 brothers and 2 sisters (total of 9 children) born of Arvil Dewey and Daisy Mae Likens. The brothers and sisters (our aunts and uncles) are:

Use the death date and place to find an obituary and perhaps it will tell you more about his life. I have no personal knowledge of him or his family - only what I can glean from records and the research of others.

I am not researching the Likens family - it is the Simcox family that I am researching and have a little on William because of his marriage to a Simcox.

Thankyou for the information. William Likens was my biological paternal grandfather. I had no information on him other than court records when he gave up my father and his siblings to the childrens home after his wife's death. I appreciate any and all information I can get to help solve this mystery. I have no idea what happened to him or anything about him or about the Likens family.

William Elsberry Likens was born in Doniphan County, Kansas which is just across the river from St. Joe, Missouri and is considered a suburb of same. He was the son of Jonas E. and Ida L Likens. Jonas was the son of Abel Walker and Mary Jane (Elsberry)Likens. The name is also spelled Likins and Lykens.
