Sorry I have not been checking the message board for awhile .
My grand mothers maden name was Pietra (Peter) Lilla . She was born in Palmero ,Italy app 1895 to 1900 Her father was an orphan found on the steps of a monestry. He was adopted by the Lilla family who were all girls and were teachers. She had several brothers who worked for the rail road during the invasion by the american troops in 1941 my God father visited them he said they all had red hair. My grandmother told me that posably that he was of Austrian extraction. My grand mother visited in 1906 and 1937 . I have areturn address on aletter sent home If that can be help let me know .
Pietra mothers name was also Pietra Iello . My grandfahters name was Fredrick Luperelli Albion . he was English Italian Well that is another storry. If you know of any Lilla that were an orphan Let me know. One more thing my cousins daughter Linda Mazzu visited Palmero last October she had tea with an english speaking Lilla who once lived in Chicago married a Sicilian and moved back to Palmero She remembered some thing about an orphan in the Lilla family . if this rings a bell let me know .
