Surnames: Lillard, Bradley
Hello
I was wondering if there were any records at all before 1780?Any old tax lists,Census records or anything in the areas of Culpepper, Madison, Rappahanock area.
I am looking for Lawrence Bradley, and a John Lillard or a Benjamin Lillard.I have this bit of info and would like to find the source.
Capt. John Lillard purchased 350 acres of land near the Thornton estates in Rappahanock County in 1762. In 1763, he devided it into three parts: the Northern part he kept as his home of 150 acres and lived there until 1782 when he sold it and left for Ky. to take up 1000 acres of land for his Rev. War service. The bottom 100 acres he sold to his brother, Thomas Lillard. The middle part of 100 acres went to John Bradley.
