I know this is an old posting looking for Lilley's in Virginia. Howard is my granduncle and of course, Ernest Miller is my 1st cousin once removed. I have 5 children listed for Ernest and Ileta May Adams. Howard is the child of Martin Miller Lilley, my Great Grandfather. I would like to share info I have. What other information do you have that might interest me. Thanks. Ruth in Salt Lake City, Utah

I am interested in your information, as I can only go as far back as John Milton.
John Milton and Emma Allen Murphy are buried in Burns Kansas. Their daughter, Stella, is buried in Newton, Ks. Sisters Georgia and Eva are buried in the Colorado Springs area. I am in contact with Georgia's son, Bob. If I remember correctly, sisters Grace, the oldest, and Ruth, the youngest, are buried at Burns also. Stella was my grandmother.
Are you related to Joan Correll? I corresponded with her earlier this year. Her great grandfather Ira(?) Lilley stayed in PA while the other Lilley brothers went west.
Glenn Lilley, Joseph's son I think, is buried in Towanda, KS.
I look forward to hearing from you. my email is matsch_j@hotmail.com

I have the Lilley family back to Thomas Lilley and Ruth Woodward. John Milton Lilley and Emma Allen Murphy lived in Burns, KS. Not sure where they were buried, but Roger Milton was buried in the Burns Cemetery, according to Find A Grave. I would imagin the girls and parents are buried there too.

Joseph Craig Lilley moved to Wichita, he has was to have died there. Lena and Dwight are buried in Wichita Park Cemetery.

I would love to exchange information.

Barbara

Galen Lougee was my father, he died 6/21/04. He was born 6/21/29 in Dyer Brook, ME. Galen had brothers Ralph, Howard, and Richard, and a sister Evelyn. He was the son of Percy Oscar Lougee and Marjorie Velma Lilley. Percy was the son of Alpheus Oscar Lougee. Marjorie had a brother named Sydney Burnham Lilley that we all knew as Uncle Burn, he always played checkers with us young kids. Marjorie made great doughnuts. Craig Lougee

Re Early America: there were a number of immigrants with the surname of Lilley and variant spellings. I am researching the George Lilley who showed up in Reading, Massachusetts in the 1650’s, but the Lilleys in the South and Appalachian region seemed to have stemmed from another immigrant. I too am interested in their origins.

I have Walter as the immigrant that arrived in the mid-1700s. They were Quakers. They settled in the Chester county area. They married mostly local girls and Murphy, Wollerton, Buffington, Woodward, Craig are all from the females. Craig seemed to be a middle name for some of the boys.Joseph Craig Lilley and William Craig Lilley were two of the brothers that went west. Robert F. and John Milton were the others.
John Milton Lilley and Emma A. Murphy are part of the family I have been tracing for years. Did you scan the photo? I would love a copy. I have their history from the 1700s and their sibling information. I also have pictures of them with other members of the family and would love to share them.I also have pictures and ads from the grain business.
John, Joseph, & William went from PA to Kansas in the late 1800s. Robert went to Colorado. Ira stayed in PA. I need information on their families after they left PA.
Contact me at correllj@aol.com.

Thanks. I didn't have John's birthdate. Are you sure they are in Redstone Cemetery? Several relatives have looked and said they couldn't find their stones. What do you have on the history of the family before John? I also am trying to fill in information about the Kansas families. I have pictures of Ralph, Dwight C., Glen as children and some of their families. I am looking to see what happened to them and their children after the 1930 census. Joan

Hi,
I am looking for family members of a Nelson W. Borges who married a Verna Conci. They were the original owners of the house my parents bought in 1976 and left behind some pictures from the thirties I would guess. There was also an old birth certificate for a Victor Robert Borges who was the son of Victor Emanuel Borges and Caroline Christine Hansen. I recently rediscovered these pics and did a little research to try to get them into the hands of possible family members. I do have one envelope that does say to whom it may concern and it has the name Darrell Borges and USS Savanah written on it. If any of this sounds familiar let me know.
Chris McGuire

The history by John Nd Emma's daughter states Redstone. Sorry, I don't have any history before John.
there are Lilleys in Wichita KS and some are buried in Butler County, Kansas. Next time I go up, I want to explore them.

Glen I am fuzzy on. I am thinking he is the son of Joseph. I would like more information on him and his line also. H.C Lilley, in Seattle, doesn't remember much, other than he was a cousin.

I also have a cousin in CA who has all of the history on Family TreeMaker, but my information came from her .

James Melvin Lilley parents were James Edward Lilley and Lydia Harrell. I believe James Edward Lilley's mother was named Elizabeth and that is all I have been able to find at this point. I do lnot have anything on Josephine Parker
parents. I have James Melvin with 11 children of which 7 were boys. Which one are you a descendant from? I don't have a complete list of the descendants of James Edward Lilley but do have some. If you want to get into details
of the descendants, contact me at lesstal@yahoo.com and tell me how you fit in the family. I am still looking for James Edward Lilley's ancestors.

I am trying to find descendants of W B Skinner who was one of the founders of Arkley Golf Club in 1909. My father was very friendly with his son, who had no issue. His daughter, Peggy Skinner who did not marry, lived with us for a while and my mother who is still alive but 93 years old might be able to assist you in your enquiries. I am sure that this Skinner was the one who married Lilley and who started Lilley and Skinner. I would like to invite one of the descendants to Arkley on 17 August 2009 to help celebrate the club's centenary
