Lillis - research to be done in Ireland
My Gt Grandmother was Margaret Wiseman, nee Lillis 1856 - 1911, her father was Patrick Lillis b 1806 Co Clare, Ireland d 1886 Handsworth, Staffs UK (now Birmingham). She had three older brothers all born in Clare; Patrick c 1841, Thomas c 1843 and Richard c 1852. They arrived in Handsworth inbetween the 1841 & 1851 Census, and in 1858 Patrick (widowed?) remarried Bridgett Glynn from Galway also living in the Handsworth area, and had more children.
My research needs are:
the mother of the first four (or possibly more) children (ie my Gt Gt Grandmother)
where are they from (a possible is Kilrush)
where was Margaret born
If anyone has any cross links on any of this it would be FAB! Patrick Jnr ended up in Marleybone and seems to be the father of that London strain of Lillis but he seems to disappear after 1886.
Thomas and Richard both stayed in the Handsworth/Birmingham areas and died 1897 and 1895 but I think all Thomas's children predeceased him.
Look forward to anyone with anything to add. I'm off to Ireland at the end of the month with a view to trawling through the Clare Parish Registers!
