My photo is of William Henry Lilly (Hickory Bill). He was born 4 Apr 1931 and died 14 Mar 1904. He was the son of Elijah Maamon Lilly and Sarah Jane "Sally" Cadle. He lost an arm in the Civil War, but was NOT the William Lilly known as One-Arm Bill. My William was known as "Hickory Bill" because when he first enlisted, he sneaked home to check on things and used stripped bark for bit and reins for his "appropriated" horse. He was found out and punished but still very much needed by the Confederates, so he stayed until he lost an arm. His photo is posted on my tree "Eden's Harvest" if you want to snag for your tree.
