"Descendants" of President Lincoln
It may seem like a small distinction, but it is a very important one:
There are NO living *descendants* of the president. To be a descendant, you must be in his line of descent. Only his son Robert lived to adulthood, and all of his childrens' descendants are now dead.
It is possible to be a *relative* of the president, if you are descended from Samuel Lincoln the weaver, but no one living is a descendant of the president. To claim so is inaccurate and confusing to people who understand what a descendant means.
