Lines, Albert

Mary Jane Kersey born 4 jul 1835 in KY, died 10 Jan 1901 of cancer in Marion County Center Township Indianapolis she was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery on 12 Jan 1901.

Her Husband is Jacob Voorhees born 13 Apr 1935 in Indianapolis, died 17 Dec 1915 of Dilatation of Heart in Marion County Center Township Indianapolis and is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery.

I know of a daughter, who is my great great grandmother, Missouri Voorhees born 6 May 1907 in Indianapolis and died 3 May 1907 in Indianapolis. She was married to Bertram Poole, he purchased the cemetery plot on the 6th of May 1907, he is not buried there but there is a woman named Emily J. Poole who was born 14 July 1847 in Ohio and died 6 Mar 1909 of cancer. I am going to assume that she is the mother of Bertram. There is a notation on the burial ledger that leads me to believe that Bertram was possibly buried in Memphis, TN 9/28? Also on file is Affidavit of Heirship of Bertram Poole (deceased), dated 17 May 1940 by Laura Ellen Poole. This states that the following persons are legal heirs of Bertram. Frank S. Poole (son), Vora Poole Day (daughter)she is my great grandmother and Don Edward Poole (grandson, minor).

Looking for information on Bertram and his parents along with any information concerning his son and grandson listed.

Looking for information on Jacob Voorhees. Listed with him and Mary Jane in same burial plot is the following
Clara B Voorhees
Cory Ann Voorhees
Mary Kersey
Elisha Kersey
Mary F Cropper
Albert Lines
Coryden Berham Hartman
Cora Voorhees

Any information would be of great help.

I have a tintype 1 7/8"x3" of a well-dressed man. The tintype is enclosed in a paper sleeve with an oval cut out to show the tintype. On the bottom of the sleeve is written "Thomas Lines when in Kansas." It is possible this Thomas is a member of the Squire N Lines family who lived from 1868 until 1898 in Brown and Wilson Counties Kansas. If Thomas is part of your family line, please contact me. I'll be glad to send you the tintype. I bought it as part of a larger collection in Delaware Co, OH.

Isaac, Samuel and John from Liberty Co. Georgia late 1700s

Isaac Lines married Martha Maxwell, possibly in South Carolina. They lived in Liberty Co., Georgia, and had several children, among them Samuel and John. Isaac *MIGHT* have had a brother named Samuel. Isaac and Martha had a child named Morgan, but I am uncertain if Morgan was a male or female. If this Morgan was female, then there was an older Lines male named Morgan.

The younger Samuel married Dorcas Jurdine.
John married Jane Carr daughter of William Carr, son of Mark Carr.

This family *might* have left New England, gone to the Carolina's and then moved to Georgia. Does anything seem familiar to anyone?

I have found some more information on George T. Lines. He was born circa 1864 and d. 1939 age 75. He emigrated to America circa 1872, returned to England a year later and married Ellen Ireland circa 1873-74. I think he had some siblings a brother and at least 1 sister, names unknown at this point. If any one has any more information to share on this I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Lisa

My Great Grandfather was George T Lines. He was born in England, but I am unsure of the year probably sometime in the 1850s. He married Ellen Ireland and they emigrated to upstate NY I believe he lived in the north part of
England and have been told that he sang in a cathedral choir as a boy George and Ellen had 7 daughters. I do not know if he had any siblings or what his parents names were. If this sounds familiar to any one I would appreciate hearing from you.

Peter L. Bourquin b. 1825 Switz, Lines Family, Illinois

Sure hope someone can connect to this family;

My Julius (Jules) Bourquin (b. 1846 Swtizerland) lived in Macon County, Illinois in 1870. A few
dwellings down, on the 1870 Macon County census, was a Peter L. Bourquin, born 1825
Switzerland. I feel he was related to my Julius Bourquin. No other Bourquins were in this county
at this time. Therefore, I set out on an exhaustive research of Peter. Here is what I found;

Peter L. Bourquin born 1825 Switzerland.

Peter L. Bourquin marries Mary Jane Collins, born 1835 Ohio or Ill., in DeWitt County, Illinois
June 18, 1853.
Children;
Mary J. Bourquin b. 1856 Ill. She marries Jacob Liens (Lines) born 1848 Ill, July 6, 1873 in
Macon County, Illinois. Children; Ann J. M. Liens b. 1867 Ill., John H. W. Liens b. 1878 Ill.

Charles C. Henry Bourquin b. 1859, Illinois

Elizabeth H. Bourquin b. 1863 Illinois marries a Sheppard.

Belle F. Bourquin b. ? marries a King.

Peter L. Bourquin marries 2nd; Sarah Font b. 1805 PA, on Feb. 1, 1868 in DeWitt, Illinois.

Peter L. Bourquin marries 3rd; Barbara Shaffer b. 1843 in Germany, on June 6, 1876 in Macon
County, Illinois.

Peter was naturalized Feb. 10, 1859 in DeWitt County, Illinois.

1860 Census, DeWitt County, Illinois, page 489; Is a Peter Bourquine.

Peter L. Bourquin was a Blacksmith and Wagon Maker.

1880 Macon County, Illinois Census, page 557C, Oakley Township
Peter Bourquin age 55 Switz, Blacksmith
Barbara, wife, age 37 Germ
Charles H., son, age 21, Ill, Farming
Elizabeth H., dau, age 17, Ill, at home

Peter L. Bourquin dies December 19, 1892 in Macon County, Illinois. I have received from the
Illinois State Archives, his will. Listed are his 4 children. Julius Bourquin is not mentioned. I feel
Julius (Jules) was a nephew. Julius arrived in the US in 1864 at New York and married Mary
Farrow in 1869 in Macon County, Illinois. I feel Julius (Jules) is connected to Peter in some way.
The Civil War records show that Henry C was from New Haven.

He enlisted in Feb of 1861 and Mustered out in Jan of 1865.

I've sent off for the pension case file, but it will be 16 weeks before it comes back.

If you find anything that links LINES to BOTSFORD, I will appreciate it.

Thanks,

J

Per the 1900 Census,

Annie LINES was widowed and living at 150 North Ninth St. In Brooklyn (Williamsburg) NY.

She and her late husband were both born in Massachusetts. Her parents were both born in England.

Annie was born in May of 1850.

Living with her in 1900 were three sons:

James, born in June of 1875, a clerk in a fish store.
John, born in Nov of 1880, a glass blower
Frank, born in Oct of 1890, a student.

All of the boys were born in Brooklyn.

According to the census she had a fourth child.

I believe the fourth child is Mary E.(Mamie) Lines. In 1897 Mary married Daniel J. Dempsey. Previously she had been married to a Mr. Hill who died around 1889. Mary and Daniel lived around the corner from Annie on Bedford Ave.

Any information that will help me to prove or disprove the connection between Annie and Mary will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim
Luella Lines Fowkes of Springfield, IL

I am looking for information on Luella Lines Fowkes. Luella was living in Springfield, IL in December 1948. According to her sister's obituary, she had married a Fowkes. Luella was only 10 years old when her mother died, leaving her an orphan. She lived with her sister, Jessie for awhile, but I have been able to locate her until today when I found Jessie's obituary. I would like to find out what happened to Luella and bring her back to her family. Would be glad to share information on her family. Any help is definitely appreciated.

Old letters and records Lines - Geisendorfer

I am a cousin to these people, and am also a Genealogist as they were. I am seeking the papers and old family letters that Elizabeth Lincoln Geisendorfer Lines and her daugher, Mary Lines Peffer, used in their research. I know the letters and notes are out there somewhere, I am enlarging the book Mary wrote and need copies of these important resources to further document this book. If someone knows what Mary did with her research notes and papers, please contact me, there are many of us working on this project, and we need your help. Thanks.
