      <description>On his birth certificate it says father: Harold Barff Linfoot &lt;br&gt;Mother: Kate Linfoot formerly Broadbent&lt;br&gt;Boy born 10th october 1909 Horace Broadbent in Stockton on Tees in the county of Durham&lt;br&gt;Address 7 Mill street East Stockton on Tees.&lt;br&gt;I am on facebook under Jas Stephens, there is a picture of me with a dog and I have black hair, blue jeans and a black t-shirt. I know nothing much about the family earlier than Horace.&lt;br&gt;I have a feeling that we are related because Harold Barff Linfoot is not a common name!! and to have a son horace as well  </description>

      <description>Hi&lt;br&gt;I actually dont know anything about him just that he went to Australia What does it say on his birth certificate about his parents and birth place, I have a lot of information about the rest of the family dateing back to 1817.       <description>Hi Jason&lt;br&gt;Im a bit confused because when Harold and Kate left for Australia in 1911 they did not take a son with them and they had a daighter Edith Francis Linfoot in Australia in 1913 they then returned to the UK in 1916 with their daughter and Harold died a year later I then lose all trace of Kate but I found a birth for Horace Broadbent Linfoot in Stockton the year they were married so it looks like a shot gun wedding but there is no record of Horace going to Australia until much later what do youy know about the family? I live in Cyprus I have a cousin living in Sweden, I new we had Australian relatives, Oh and I have found a cousin in France which is related to us both my name is Carol</description>

      <description>Hi William,&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I'm guessing you are William P. Farrington, if so we have been in contact before, I am Gae Linfoot, descendant of William Linfoot 1779-1828 m. Elizabeth Benson 1786, through their son John Linfoot 1812, through William Henry Linfoot 1838-1884, through William James Linfoot 1874-1960 who is my grandfather.  My records show that William Linfoot and Elizabeth Benson (listed  above) had 6 children, Thomas 1814, Hannah 1818, Rosetta 1821, George 1823, Christopher 1829, and (3)Elizabeth 1816-1881.  I do not know what the 3 means before Elizabeth's name, my information is from an old program of mine that I can no longer access.  I also have A William Linfoot WFT Est. 1761-1793-1828 m. Elizabeth Benson WFT Est. 1769-1795-WFT Est 1819-1883, they had 8 children, all with names and dates that match the above children, only they had two other children, I think it likely that this is all the same family, the second listing with 8 children, includes (1) William P. Linfoot Jr. 1809-1879, John Linfoot WFT Est. 1790-1827 WFT Est. 1803-1908.  This all probably makes more sense to you than I. I have the daughter Elizabeth Linfoot 1816-1881 as marrying John William Oliphant 1843, George R. Mercer WFT Est  1799-1819 WFT Est 1834-1905, and it then lists John William Oliphant again, 1821-1883, the list goes on to include the Farrington family and possibly I got this information from you, but I thought the information on Elizabeth Linfoot, might be helpful.  I do have a copy from our family Bible that lists William 1779 and Elizabeth Benson 1786 as having several children including Elizabeth Linfoot Born Nov 25th 1816 "Spurriergate" I can hardly read it, York.  Now, if you do not mind, I have a question, I mentioned I descend from John Linfoot 1812, who married Harriet Hooper/Mary G. Simpson, they had William Henry, Jane, and Elizabeth, but some records show a son John, some referring to him as Hooper others as a Linfoot.  If you have any information that can clear that up I would appreciate it.  Incidently aside from getting my information from my old program.  There is a family tree "Trail of Linfoots" that I believe lists all of the above, if not, I will try to add it when I have time, if I'm given permission.  Always open to help, just way too busy!!       <description>I am searching for the parents of William Linfoot who migrated with his family to South Australia in 1849 on the Duke of Wellington.  The passenger list for the Duke of Wellington records his age as 40 and this suggests that he was born around 1809.  The passenger list is at:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/australia/dukeofwellington1849.htm" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/australia/dukeofwellington...&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I can find the christenings for all his children and birth registrations for those children born after July 1837.  These were all recorded at locations in and around York.  William’s wife is listed as Mary Ann or Ann.  On the birth registrations, her maiden name is given as Whitwell.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I have been unable to locate the marriage registration for William Linfoot and Mary Ann Whitwell.  I expect this to have occurred before 1830.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;For the 1841 census, William and his family were at St Helen Stonegate in York. William was a whitesmith and Mary Ann is listed as Marian.  Mary Ann appears under the name of Miriam in some subsequent documents.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;One possibility is that William Linfoot is the son of Elizabeth (Sivers) and Thomas Linfoot.  This William was christened on 24 July 1808 at Sutton on the Forest in Yorkshire.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Is anyone researching this family or have any further information that would help me?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Geof</description>

      <description>I believe you may be able to help me with my search for information for John Harps who allegedly came from Italy.  All I know is that he died April 1, 1900 in St. Andrews and is buried in Cornwall, Ontario and that he married a Mary Sylvester.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Can you offer any information on this Harps line?       <description>I am very interested in an Elizabeth LINFOOT, possible daughter of William and Elizabeth BENSON LINFOOT. She was born circa 1817 in York [?], Yorkshire, England. According to a pamphlet written by a long dead cousin, her mother, along with her and her siblings, came to Canada after William died in England circa 1830.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I have not been able to proove Elizabeth's birth and parents except by one Bible, a multi-generation photocopy, entry that gave her birth date. I have been able to find her possible siblings in York, Yorkshire, England by the IGI. Everything I know about this family is at &lt;a href="http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&amp;amp;db=willfarr-oliphan&amp;amp;id=I23" target="_blank"&gt;http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&amp;amp;db=willfar...&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Elisabeth LINFOOT was married to George MERCER in Canada circa 1831. I have not been able to prove this. Elizabeth and George MERCER were in Texas by 1840. Her possible brother was William Poole LINFOOT who apparently came with them to Texas.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I deccend fom Elisabeth LINFOOT and John William Oliphint.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Can you help me in any way with the English and Canadian part?       <description>I have not got the Linfoot tree on Ancestry its on Genes reunited All the Linfoots are there If you go to explorer and type genes reunited it should come up if you put Linfoot tree I am in contact with John Linfoot and I cannot get into the Linfoot lineage otherwise I will try and e-mail you with it but I am not very good &lt;br&gt;Regards Pat</description>

He married Isabel Gow Wark (b. 1909, d. 2003) in 1932. All are buried in Hamilton Cemetery.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Lloyd and Isabel had 2 children: Catharine Borza and my father, David Wark Linfoot (b. 1941).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am interested in my family's lineage and plan on exploring more. My line is through Elizabeth Linfoot (m 1st to George Mercer, then 2nd to John Oliphint)(I learned that from you, Jenny), she had a brother John Linfoot b 1812, m to Harriet Hooper and Mary G Simpson, not sure who was first, (you mentioned Johnson). John and Harriet had William Henry Linfoot b.1838, d. 1884, they had 9 children, one William James Linfoot b. 1874 d 1960,was my grandfather.  I mentioned a line in Oklahoma whose reunion's I have attended twice, but I have not yet found the connection.  This line starts with John Richard 1822-1885) who married Rebecca Judd, they had two dau, one son, Philo Richard, 7 children, I have the names, but this is getting long.  I would love to connect to this line.  Let me know if I can help in any way.</description>

      <description>Hello&lt;br&gt;I think I might have some information for you that is helpful.  I was born in Ohio and descended from the Toon family who emigrated from England in 1871.  One of them, Francis Toon married a Joseph Linfoot.  They had a son William born in 1878.  I believe that William married an Iola Riley who was also born in Ohio.  They eventually moved to Franklin, Kentucky.  They had several children:  Myrtle, Iola, Helen, Doris, William, Jr. and Joseph.  Iola married a Spaulding and I think the following were some of her children:  William (b.: 1928, and Carl (bbbbb; 1930.  There is another record of a Carl Spaulding born in 1955.&lt;br&gt;If this sounds familiar, I do have information on the maternal side of this family, specifically Francis Toon Linfoot.  I have traced this family back to the 1600s in Warwickshire, England and I have a lot of documents, etc., photos.  I know that Joseph Linfoot is also from England and eventually wound up living in Los Angeles.  Let me know if you are interested and we'll work something out.&lt;br&gt;If this is your family you are descended from my gggrandfather Henry Toon and his wife Mary Bailey.&lt;br&gt;Regards,&lt;br&gt;Sharon </description>
