Mary Polly Heidelberg Linsey 1782-1840-1849 NC, GA

I am researching David Linsey b 1778 in NC, d Mar 1856 married to Mary Polly Heidelberg, b 1782 Onslow Co NC, d. 1840-1849-Pulaski Co GA.(both buried at Orange Hill Cemetery, Hawkinsville, GA) SPECULATION is that she was the daughter of John Heidleberg & Catherine McClammy; possibly a sister to Thomas Christian Heidelberg b 1768 GA, d. 1848 MS married Nancy Moffeitt b VA, d 1814 Twiggs Co GA (married in 1804 in Hancock Co GA) (however,no proof to connect Mary Polly Heidelberg to these people). The 1812 Hancock Co GA Taxable Propery Capt Moffeitt's District shows a David Linsey and a John Moffeitt as paying taxes. Anyone having any info on Mary Polly Heidelberg or David Linsey, please let me know.

Archibald Lindsey / Linsey / Linzey etc of Stafford Tolland CT

Archibald Linsey was married in Stafford, Tolland CT on 22 Apr 1742 to Priscella Stephenson and had the following children:
Presilla Lindsey b. 16 Oct 1743
Samuel Lindsey b. 6 Feb 1745
Charity Lindsey b. 22 Dec 1746
Mehitobel Lindsey b. 13 Sep 1749
Tabitha Lindsey b. 19 Apr 1751
Eunice Lindsey b. 17 Mar 1753
James Lindsey b. 15 Apr 1755
Naoma Lindsey b. 22 Dec 1758
Stephen Lindsey b. 22 Mar 1759 m. Sally MacNitt -my line
Ruth Lindsey b 14 May 1761

This information was sent to me by a distant cousin that I don't know. I've been trying to find this person as the information they gave me appears correct. They found info from the Barbour Collection of CT and it looks as though Archibald / Archibel / Arschbel Linsey parents are James & Eunice Lindsey.
Now the cousin I got this from seems to be descended from Archibald's brother John Lindsey (wife Abigail Washburn) I have what appears to be his children, grandchildren & grt grandchildren lineage.
My Archibalds brothers & sisters were (in birth order) John Lindsey (1712); Archie (himself 1713); Elizabeth (1715); James (1716 -wife Hannah Turner); Thomas (1723 -wife Elizabether Turner).

Please if you have this family or if this is your information I would like to make contact. I have a new email address as I use to be "Tigerdeney" under aol for several years

MARTHA LINSEY (LINZEY?)--BORN 1823 IN GEORGIA

My gggf was Benjamin M. Raley who was born in 1818 in Washington County, Georgia. His wife, Martha, was born 1/10/1823 in Georgia (I don't know which county) and died 8/10/1855 in Washington County, Florida. Ben and Martha were living in Randolph County, Georgia in 1840, so there is a possibility Martha was from that county. The death certificate for one of their daughters has Martha's maiden name as "Linzey." However, the name could have been misspelled.

If you have any information about where Martha was born and who her parents were, I would appreciate your contacting me.

John N. Linsey of Warren County, Kentucky

Looking for more information on John N. Linsey of Warren County, Kentucky. He was married to Nancy Thornton in Warren, Kentucky about 1833. Nancy died in 1845 John and Nancy had five children ages 10 years to 71/2 months at the time of her death.

John married again (wife's name unknown). This wife died (May 14, 1859) leaving John with an infant daughter 6 months old.

John married again on August 25, 1859 (wife's name unknown). At the time of this marriage all of his children were living.

I have two letters written by him to his brother in law Joel Thornton (brother of John's first wife Nancy Thornton). In those letters, John does not mention the names or sexes of his children nor the names of the other two wives. The letters are written from Bowling Green, Warren, Kentucky in 1845 and 1859.

Thanks for any help you can give,
Don

I, 1st Heavy Artillery

My gr.-grandma's name was Parthena Lindsey Quimby. There were two other confirmed marriages:
1.
If you are looking for the ancestors of these folks, you might try looking in Chariton, Cooper or Callaway Counties, Missouri in the 1850 census. Clark Lindsay was a Confederate soldier who moved out of state after the defeat of the CSA. It seems that he went to Texas.

I was looking at the alternative spelling for Lindsey and I saw your message. I don't recognize any of the names you mention but I'll tell you the similarities. My Grandparents, and Father were from Weatherford, Texas, near Ft. Worth. My Greatgrandmother was a Lindsey. She was married to a Campbell, and she died in Texas. They were originally from Illinois, and I think she might have been a Catholic. I heard they were originally from Argyll, Scotland, and were supposedly related to the Duke of Argyll, on the Lindsey side. We are decended from royalty I was told. Wish it was true. Are your Lindsey ancestors from Illinois or Scotland? Diana
Campbell diancampbell2Yahoo.com
