Canandaigua — Margaret M. Linster, 106, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at the Elm Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Linster was born in Illinois on Nov. 18, 1894, the daughter of Wilkes and Fannie (Church) Bedell.
She had been a postmistress in Tioga, Wis., and she and her late husband owned and operated a farm at Toomey's Corners in Bloomfield.
She was a member of the D.A.R., had been active with the Salvation Army and had lived at the Spa Apartments in Clifton Springs for a number of years.
The widow of William Linster, who died in 1992, survivors include her nieces and nephews, Helen Fingar, Harry and Elaine Bedell, Elsie and Melvin Melby, Evelyn and Frank Heiman and Linda and Ben Bradagan; her grandnieces and nephews including Mary and Mitch Record and Barbara and Tom Robertson; several great-grand and great-great-grandnieces and nephews; her cousins, Phyllis Lewis, Naomi Sherbourne, Kermit and Bert Irwin, Hazel Byers and Laura Mackensen; and her sister-in-law, Gladys Bedell.
There will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the spring in the Peasleeville Cemetery in Peru.
Arrangements are with the Lester E. Thew Funeral Home in Peru.
