Surnames: LINTON, FOX, SIKES, GENTRY, CHENEY,
My Great Grandmother:
Josie Mae Linton Fox born 07/28/1888 in Forney,Kaufman, TX
daughter of
Thomas Jefferson Linton or Sam or Samuel and
Lou Ella Gentry Linton
married in 1906 in Vernon, Wilbarger, TX
James Robert Fox born 02/04/1884 in Forney,Kaufman, TX
son of
James Anthony Fox
Sarah Sikes Fox
I have since found out that Thomas Jefferson Linton's parents were Marcus and Savannah (Cheney) Linton of Forney, Kaufman, TX.
Marcus was born in North Carolina around 1840 and Savannah came from TN.
I keep coming up with information linking them to Hamilton and Coffee Counties in TN....but nothing firm.......
I would like to know more about the Linton and Fox Family.
This is all the info I have.
I do remember Josie had a sister Gertrude that came before she died in the early 1990's from somewhere in Oklahoma.
