I am a Lique. There are were many Lique's living in the Rutland , Sudbury , Proctor area. My grandfather was Joseph Lique . He had a brother Michael. My grandfather was a carpenter. He was married to Mary Lydia Besania. They had a great many chiddren. My dad was William.

i also am a Lique' my name is scott eugene as was my father his family was from vermont his father Raymond Lique and mother Glenna still live in the vermont area. as for my brother Raymond and i live in South Carolina.

Hi Chris,
I apparently am a great grandson of Joseph Liquie, so we must be related. My name is Ernest W "Bill" Cook, my father was Ernest Anthony Cook Jr, and his father was Ernest Anthony Cook Sr, and his father was Joseph Liquie from Vermont. Trace back further and you end up in French Canada. My dad moved us from Boston to Petaluma California when we were young. He passed away years, but we still have some relatives in the Boston area, which we lost track of years ago. I live in Sunnyvale California and also have a sister named Chris. Anyone researched possibility that Lique may have been shortened from LaLique?
Also, I find it difficult to find Lique on census record here in New England My Lique is Michael-Edmund of Vermont. Edmund b. in Lester Junction, Vt-which I cannot locate.

I know that Richard and Ester have 5 sons. one of them Being Clifford F. Lique, who married Georgia L. Roys, whom had 3 children, Michael, who died shortly after birth, kelly who has 2 children, and steven, who i am married to and we have 2 children. if you would like more info, plz contact me.

Here are some names to help you. Joseph Allsaint Lique lived in Claremont, NH wife was Eva. Josephs father was Joseph Lique, mother Mary Lydia Besnia. They lived Hartford, Vt. Josephs father was Michael Lique of Rutland, Vt, his father Francis Lique (Lecuyer) from Canada.

If you are really interested in the family tree I have dates and places. I have the family back to 1640 in France. I need info about you before I will send it.

Nice to hear from you Mercedes. I am your grandfather Cliffords cousin. I won't tell you my age but I will tell you my grandson Jason thinks I'm ancient.
Your Lique family came from France in the 1600's to Canada. The name has been several different ways.

Sorry about the confusion. Many spammers have robot programs (sometimes called spiders) that extract e-mail addresses off message boards and then use them to send you spam. There was a Liquie family with several children and each of these kids named their children Joseph and Elma, or Ella or a variation of. The Liquie family I have info on originated in Pittsford, Vermont and moved to Holyoke, MA by the 1880s. Though I am sure your family is connected along the way. Guess what? I am Joseph Liques grandaughter, my father is William W. Lique. He was born in Proctor Vt 04/01/1903. He had a sister named Elma ..... She was married to Guy P.Cook
on Sept.10, 1913. Does this make any sense with any info you have. I have been serching for a long time. Would appreciate any info that you could share with me.

Dear Jacqueline,

I have at least 2 Liquie's/Lecuyer/Cooks that moved to Holyoke MA from Pittsford VT. I am pretty confident that they are brothers. Their father would be Francois. One is John (Jean-Baptiste) and the other is Sandy. Briefly, John and Sandy had sons named Joseph. In fact, most of the family had Jospeh's making a generation of cousins with similar names. Both men also had daughters with similar names: Sandy had a daugher named Ella Jane (ca 1870) and Ellen (ca 1872.)

Both John and Sandy also used the name Cook. Though I think Sandy used it first and as early as 1880. (Census)

Sandy married a woman in Vermont named Alvira or Elvira.
Does any of this sound familiar to what you have uncovered? I can send you more info if needed.

Hi Chris, I think we are looking for the same Lique. I have relatives buried in Pittsford Vt. My Grandfther Joseph lived in Holyoke Ma for a while.Let me know how you are related to our family. I believe my line and yours cross at your grandfather Joseph LIque the brother to my Frederick Joseph Lique. Their father was Joseph Henry Lique son of Michael Lique and Margaret Paul. If you are looking for the name in Canada use Lecuyer.

Richard Francis Lique is my mother, Geraldine's (Gerry)brother. I am her daughter Marion. Ruth (Butch) Lique , Uncle Earl's daughter has told me a lot about you and I would enjoy hearing from you at bigtsmom@together.net. I have made the connection of the Lique's back to France and am filling in the offshoots. The other cousin that is mentioned is my second cousin Jacqueline who is the daughter of William Wilbert, an Uncle of Richard and Geraldine's, brother to Frederick the father of Richard and Geraldine.

I am looking for information on John Liquie born ca 1831-33 in Canada and moved to Pittsford, VT. He married Zoe Way on July 10, 1855. Zoe Way was born ca 1838-40 in Canada as well. I think the census listed East Canada so it it Quebec.
They may have had a daughter Louisa (born in 1858) and had son Joseph born around 1865. John ended up living with son Joseph in Holyoke, MA. around 1888-1892. Thanks.

My husband is a Lique his father is Richard F. Lique Springfield VT. and my husband has 3 brothers in that area-We have moved to Wyoming last year-We had been living in Charlestown NH for the last 32 years. Please let us know how we fit into your family tree Thanks One of the Liques

I am wondeirng if anyone has information on a Joseph Liquie born in Vermont between 1865-1870? He moved to South Hadley, MA and married Mary Fitzgerald and had at least one child-- William Liquie born in March of 1890. I am guessing Joseph was 20-25 when he had this child. William's birth record notes his father was born in Vermont and was a milk peddler.

William Liquie is my great grandfather and he changed his name to Cook. Possibly his parents died and he was raised by a Cook family. My family does not know why and we have no information Joseph.
