Richmond (A. or O.) Litchfield, Mass. & New York

I am trying to find any information about Richmond (b. abt. 1890). He was married to my Gr-aunt Mary J. Hayes (B. 1891, MA). I have no information about where Richmond was born, his parents, or when he & my g-aunt married. The first mention of him is in 1916, when my gr-grandfather's estate was in probate. It mentioned Mary as "Mrs. R. A. or R. O. Litchfield"-then was crossed out & replaced with "Mrs. Mary Litchfield" The address given for Mary was 16 Gertrose St. Boston. Then I have a listing for a May (my g-aunt's nickname) & Richmond at 95 Stanhope? St Brooklyn Kings Co
NY in the 1930 Fed. Census. I wonder if this is my family. If so, I don't know if they remained in NY or returned to MA or??? I also have no death date for May. I don't think they had any children but, in an old photo album [ 1912] I found a photo of a small child with the name Helen Litchfield written under. There is no date for the photo.
Any information about him (or them) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.
Callie

Looking for information on Doris Mae Litchfield and her husband Theodore A. Burn. They are the biological grandparents to my oldest brother.

They would have married around 1931/32, probably in Bristol or the area as their son, Sheldon, was born there in Sept. 1932. I have some lineage info on Theodore, would like info on Doris, any other children, etc.

Are you still looking for information on Godfrey and Dorothy Sarah Jennison? I am sixth generation grandson from their marriage. I have been told and thru research it seems possible that it is true tht he was indeed in Christchurch, New Zealand when he died but can not confirm it. He left Dorothy after she became a member of the LDS church but never had any contact with her or his children after that. I did have conf. of a grave marker with a Godfrey Lichfield, buried in Christ Church in 1853 but no one I have found can confirm that he is one in the same. He has only one realative that I have found and they do not know the history there other than he might have been a mayor of the city once.
Jason Lichfield

I am a little confused with the name Higgins listed as his wife's maiden name as we always thought it was Edith May Harris.
I have an original postcard photograph of “Jim Rensberger, Roy Hanson, Clarence Litchfield and Carl Robinson”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members of one of the four. Postcard photo was mailed from Teegarden (Marshall Co.) IN in June, 1911. The men look to be in their 20s and early 30s.

I found three of the four men in Polk (Marshall Co.) IN: Robinson, Litchfield and Rensberger.

Clarence Litchfield was in the 1900 Polk (Marshall Co.)
Hi.
I don't know too much about this branch of my family, but all I know is from another grandchild from another wife in Texas. Bess (real name unknown) had to have been born between 1918 and 1920 since her father was in Washington D.C. in September 12, 1918 to register for his WWI draft card - married to my Grandmother, Carrie Williamson. I finally found proof of their marriage on 8Aug1918 at the courthouse in Alexandria Virginia. Anyway, supposedly Bess married a man named John and went to live in California. She had 2 sons. In 1958 she disappeared wearing her nightgown. Part of her mattress was cut out and missing. There was supposed to be lots of publicity about it and parts of the family suspected her husband and son of killing her, but there was never anyone charged.
This is all I know about them. I am, however, always looking for more info. I sure would appriciate any info anyone can come up with. Thanks in advance. Cathy Lowe

Hi Bruce,
I found info on you when I was looking for our Grandfather in common. You had married a girl named Jill. I have been looking for information on him and as I go along, I've started to wonder just how many wives he ended up with. 1) unknown probably in Franklin Maine, 2) Eva Reed (3kids) in Franklin Maine, 3) my Grandmother Carrie Williamson (2kids) in Washington D.C., 4) your Grandmother Mallissie Toliver in Texas (2kids).
It's so good to know some other family members. Your sister, Susan, and I have e-mailed back and forth but I haven't come accross any new info in awhile. Do you have any photos of this guy? I might have one but I'm not sure. You can go into Ancientfaces.com and look under Litchfield. I've posted a picture of who I think is him and my grandmother Carrie. Also do you have any papers or other info on the marriage of your Grandmother and our Frank/Frances Litchfield ?
Also back to Bess....Do you have any info on her? What was her husband's last name? I can't find anything on them at all. I sure would appriciate any info you might want to share. Thanks, Cathy Lowe
P.S. Want to hear something funny ? I had this whole thing typed out and accidently wiped it out and had to type it again. Take my word for it...it was better the first time. cl
Hi,
First let me say our family appriciates any help we can get tracking this info down.
As for "catsnco" ..... that comes from the fact that we had lots of cats and my name is Cathy. My last name, before I was married, started with an "S" so when ever I had to initial anything at work, I'd use CATS. My real initials were CLS which in my line of work usually ment "calls" or if I used CS could have ment chain saw. Thus the wierd use of CATS.
Thanks again for any info you can come up with and share with us. Cathy Lowe

Lowell Litchfield

There was an interesting article in the New York Times on Thursday, August 30, 2007 about the "Litchfield House," which is an historic 1860s home in Carlisle, Massachusetts. I was curious about Lowell G. Litchfield and his wife Olive M., who were the last Litchfields to live in the house. I traced Lowell back to Lawrence and Sarah (Dennis) Litchfield, first through census records, and then, through online family trees. I would be interested in connecting with someone who descends from Lowell and Olive M. (Unknown) Litchfield.

Greetings, Katie!

I am usually called Katy myself. I am sorry if I didn't respond to your email from April. Life was busy then, and I didn't do much in the way of genealogy. Thanks for all the information you have sent. I wish I had some information to share with you, but you seem to already have all that we have found. Do you have anything back farther on John Litchfield's family, or his wife Mary Smith's family? I hope to be able to jump into this again within the next month or so when my life slows down a little more.

Bye for now,
Katy Pearson

Tracing Ancestry in the UK

Please help me trace our family lineage from the UK. I am fourth generation Litchfield. I've heard that our grandfather (Percy) was a military personnel, stationed in Southhampton. Enroute to South Africa, he met and married an African women (Mabuza) from Swaziland. They made their home in Swaziland, and had eight (8) children, one of whom (George) I'm a descended of.
