Hello;
My name is Laurel Litke Navinsky. I am from Kansas. My Great Grandparents John and Anna
Litke came to the US in 1875, when their eldest daughter was 2 months old. They came to the US when he was 20 and she was 16.
Fred Litke also came with them. He settled in Minnesota. His brother, William
immigrated to Peabody Kansas 20 years later.
My Great Grandfather, Fred and William all grew up together in the same Russian Village.
In John and Anna's eldest daughters Obit it
lists her place of birth as Merriampohl, Russia. I have not found such a place in my
search, but I have found three Mariampol,
Poland's. All are near Warsaw, Poland. In 1875 this area may have been under Russian control, or a part of Russia.

John Litke's parents were David and Justina Litke. I believe that they stayed in Russia.

I am interested in knowing about any Litke's
and corresponding with them. I am just beginning to research the Litke family.
