CRAIG LITSEY b. KANSAS to Maxine Haworth and husband

I am looking for Craig Litsey who was born in Kansas and is married to Jeanne. His mothers name was Maxine Haworth but I do not have his fathers name. This is regarding a family tree he is on going back to the American Rev. War. Last traceable place was in Americus, Kansas. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Could the Alvey Litsey be the same as Alvarettie Aline Easton who married James Carl Litsey?
You mention your husband comes through Henry's line. Henry is the son of who?
You has the Litsey Bible mentioned? Whose Bible is it?
Is this when they are in Bullitt co, KY?

Responding to your statement about Richard G Litsey. I have information and QUESTIONS concerning Richard. You mention your brother and sister are children of Richard, would the kids mother be named Lara Lucille? Maybe children born in Belton, Texas? Richard G Litsey lived in California then moved to another state after that.

Susan Elizabeth Litsey is a direct decendent of Anthony Litsey. She married Samuel Haydon and they are buried in Peters Cementery in Washington County, Ky. Her mother was Nancy George Litsey.

Help me start tracing my Litsey lineage

I talked to my grandmother about starting this project last year before she passed away but regrettably I am just beginning to do the research. My grandfather was William Litsey who married Ethel Lee Thompson and had appx 14-15 kids (George aka Billy, James aka Jimmy, Joseph, Harry, Michael, Johnny, Leo, Ethel, Laura, Donna, Linda, Elizabeth, Rose. My grandfather has a brother Eddie and Leo but other than that most of his family history died with him. I believe both of their families were from the Fairfield\Bloomfield\Bardstown areas. Can someone point me in the right direction to start my project? Thank you in advance.

I am not related to this person, but I saw this death notice, and I thought it might be of help to someone. This appeared in the North Vernon Plain Dealer (Jennings Co., IN) "100 Years Ago Today" column.

Bryant Litsey, colored, a veteran of the Civil War, died Monday evening at his home on State Street of Bight's disease after an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.S. Rawlins assisted by McKeehan Post GAR; interment in city cemetery. Mr. Litsey had long been an esteemed citizen of North Vernon; several years since, while quarrying stone a premature blast destroyed his eyesight, since which time he has had to have the constant care of his faithful wife.

My line is through Mary Jane Litsey married to Anderson Gray. Their daughter married Charles Abraham Clark. They had Issaac Thomas, my ggrandfather and he had John Thomas Clark my grandfather. I believe we are talking mid 1800's on, in Grayson County Kentucky. If you need anything else please let me know. Thank you

Thank you for getting back to me. I am so thrilled. My grandmother told me her mother was Bessie Litsey(Lightsey). She married a Barnes and had two children, my grandmother; Pauline and Maudine. My grandmother said she died around the age of 25.

I am looking for any and all information on this lineage...I know I have a Wilson Lumpkin Litsey in my ancestors...just not sure exactly how it all fits together yet.

I can tell you that Wilson Lumpkin Litsey is related to me!! woo-hoo. Bessie Litsey was my grandmothers, mother. She died young. I know the name Wilson Lumpkin Litsey but not sure of what exactly he is to me yet!

I'm interesred in the Litsey photo and any info you might be willing to share on the Litsey line. This is not my line, but that of my brother and sister. Their father was Richard G. b. 1933 d. 2002
-- his father was Carl James b. 1898 in Kentucky d. 01 June 1968 (m. before 1926 to possibly Aline Easton b. 1899 daughter of Robert and Alice Easton)
-- his father was Richard b. abt 1854 in Kentucky d. 11 Sept 1914 (m. to Alice).
Another son (brother of Carl James) was Uriah Z. b. abt 1885. Because of the name, I think that "old" Uriah (b. 1814) might be the Father or Grandfather to Richard (b. 1854).
Any help, input, or info regarding this line would be greatly appreciated.

I would like a copy of all or any pary of the Bible you are willing to share. I am especially interested in the Scotland information and the subsequent name change. Also, I have had trouble tracing the migration to Indiana.
My grandmother was Beulah Mae Litsey (1885-1969) that married James Richard Claybrooke (1870-1967) in Washington County Kentucky in 1905.
I will be more than happy to cover any expenses.

I have searched many years for claimed Indian ties without success. Also, I have had great difficulty following the migration from Ky. to Ind. and subsequent moves westward. There seems to be a connection with the Iowa branch but I have not found the connecting link. Also, there is a connection with the Ala. branch but it has proved just as elusive. Will keep searching until I find the link.

Brad, how can I obtain a copy of the family Bible? I will pay any expenses if it would be possible to obtain a copy.

I have some information for most of the Litseys from Nelson, Grayson, and Washington counties Ky.

I will share any and all information that I have if anyone requests it.

I have been researching the Litsey name for quite some time and have considerable information on many in Kentucky, Indiana and points west. I was brought up in Springfield, Ky. and know of the cemetery you speek. It has many Litseys and other names dating back to the late 1700's-early 1800's.
I have not run across many of the names you mentioned and am anxious to establish contact and share whatever information I have.
My grandmother was Beulah Mae Litsey and obviously from a different limb of the tree. Her father was Alfred Leroy Litsey and his father wasUirah S. Litsey.

This is Shirlene L. Milam and you may be getting this info twice. Wilson Lumpkin is my great grandfather and he had 5 brothers: they are: Taylor, HEnry, Brooks, Jasper, and Webb. His sisters are Nancy E. (married a Moran and I think moved to Arkansas) Polly Evers, Alicy Ann, married a Clark. I have more info if you would like to contact me at milam1306@bellsouth.net
Their father Jacob was from S.C. He married Samantha King.
He is buried on private property at Dadeville, Al near Horseshoe BEnd.

I'm Shirlene Lightsey Milam and I sort of run into a brick wall on my research and kind of lost interest for awhile, but I've recently picked it back up and WIlson Lumpkin was my great grandfather. His father was Jacob and his mother was Samantha King. Jacob was from S.C. He left there and travelled to Ga. (I think he met and married Samantha there) and had 3 sons that died there. They then moved to Tallapoosa County Al around 1849/1850 and had 9 or 10 more children. I have their names and some of who they married.\Contact me at milam1306@bellsouth.net

I am not aware of a Jacob Litsey or Wilson Litsey in my ancestry. My ancestors are from the KY. area. There is another group of Litsey/Lightsey's in the south. Sorry I can't help.
