On 2nd look, there's something else going on here. The marriage of Amos Cousens to Caroline Littlefield occurred 13 years before 'their' 1st child. The New Hampshire death records give the proper matching vital record dates for Amos's daughter Aseneth, but list her parents as Amos Cousens & "Matilda Witham." Going back to my previous mention of Ithamar Littlefield & Edna Davis, they had another daughter Margaret who married into the Witham family. So there appears to be some connection between these 3 families (Cousens, Littlefield, Witham). Perhaps there was a 2nd marriage for Amos to a Matilda Witham or a prior marriage of a maiden name Caroline Matilda Witham to some Littlefield? Why are Amos' 3 youngest children living with Caroline M. Littlefield in 1850 & where is everyone else? Bedtime for me. I'll sleep on it.
