Son James was born 1840 in Newton. There may have been other children but I don't yet know.

I found John and Martha GLEAVE's baptismal records at the Lancahsire OPC project online for St Thomas, Ashton in Makerfield parish records.

I cannot find any of them in the 1851 Census.

James GLEAVE / GLAVE is listed with his brother-in-law, Robert LITTLER in 1861 in St Helen and listed as still married but I can find nothing for Ruth or their children.
