Re: Alice B. Mathews Littreal

Shirley,
Alice Belle Littreals' maiden name was "Hacker" and b. about 1862-63 in Illinois. I can't find anything concrete on who her parents were, but I know she married several times....1) John Wesley Reed, 2) Talover Dalton, 3) Henry Daniel Littreal, and 4) Harvey Mathews. She is buried in the Anitoch Cemetery near Booneville, AR next to her last husband, Harvey. She died in 1925 at 63 yrs.

She had several children by her 1st three husbands...Ida Reed b.1882, Molly Reed b. 1885, Effie Reed b. 1888, Benjamin Reed b. 1890, "Doctor" Ernest Dalton b. 1893, Edna Earl Littreal b. 1894, and Ethel M. Littreal b. 1896.

The connection I'm researching is through Edna Earl Littreal as she was the gg-grandmother of my children.

I haven't been able to find anything on the "Littreal" name. I imagine alot of it has to do with all the variations of spellings and of course, not knowing who to look for doesn't help either. But I thought maybe what little I have might help you in your search. If you would - if you come across anything other than what I've sent, please send it my way. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Denise

Do you know if your Lewis had a sister named Sarah?
This is probably a real long shot, but I am at a complete
standstill researching Sarah Litteral (and variations of
the surname). Sarah married a ____ Clem(m)ons and
had one son, Lewis Tom. Lewis Tom was born ca 1832,
making Sarah and your Lewis comtemporaries. Since your ancestor was
Lewis Litteral (Littreal), I thought I would give it a try.
Any info you might have, I would appreciate. Please
feel free to respond directly to ST316@aol.com.
Thanks so much. Sharon Tucker

I am looking for information on Henry Daniel Littreal, born in Alabama, married Alice Bell Hacker around 1895 in Scott County Arkansas. Their 2 children were Edna Earl Littreal and Ethyl ? Littreal. Alice remarried in 1910, but I don't know if it was a result of Henrys' death or divorce. I'm trying to locate anything about this line of LITTREALs (marriage, death, births, father, mother, siblings, etc.) Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you like, you can email me direct at rick@mbo.net. Thank you in advance.
Denise Wisley

Keith and Jane,
I do not know the specifics of your family line, but I do know that all the LIttreals' in the Fries and Galax area are descendants of Lewis Littreal (Littrell/Luttrell) who married Sally Jones in 1826 in Grayson County , Virginia. Sally's parents were George Jones and Alice Johnson who lived in what is the Brush Creek section of the area. Lewis and Sally had several children. I'll have to get my records out. Clark is a common family name.

Keith:
My family is from Carroll County, Wythe County and Floyd County. Can you give me a county in Virginia and some dates to go with. I haven't ran across anyone with those names, but my grandmother had 8 kids and the further you go back families are really big. Give me as much information as possible and I will see what I have.
I've traced my Littreal's back to 1803 when my ggg-grandfather. He came to Carroll County from Floyd County with his mother (?) and he married a Sally Jones.
I could go one but it's senseless if it's not your line. Send me more infor.
Jane
