I'm trying to help my daughter-in-law locate any record of her father. Her mother is Linda Carlene Ray but was not married to her father. Her mother told her that her father was named Mark Livingston and that she met him in Lamb County, but he could be from any state, maybe born around 1940.

I have never been able to find anyone by that name. She was born in Lamb County in 1966. She is not so much interested in meeting her father as she is finding out about family health history.

Thank you for anything you might be able to tell us.

Frances Russell
farussell@verizon.net

Robert Livingston b 1786 in Virginia

I have a Robert Livingston in my tree born in 1786 in Virginia, who died in 1866 in Indiana. He was married to a Juriah (Juryiah or Susiah) Alsop in Kentucky in 1807. I'm pretty confident in the line from there forward to me. However beyond him, I initially relied on the "hints" from ancestry.com for his parents and got Robert Gilbert Livingston (1749-1791) and Margaret Hude (1751-1824) as his parents. The problem is that I have been unable to find any sources other than a few other ancestry.com trees, and none of them I have seen listed any sources other than more ancestry.com member trees that these are actually his parents. On top of that, Robert Gilbert was born in Kingston, New York and died in Tarrytown, New York, so I’m not confident that his son would have been born in Virginia. Does anyone have a Robert Livingston from Virginia/Indiana that looks like it matches mine, and if so, do you have any information on his parents? I am having a very difficult time finding any information on ancestors of Robert Livingston from Virginia/Indiana (or working backward, descendants of Robert Gilbert Livingston of New York).

Re: William Napier Livingston/Levingstone/Livingstone, Kingston, JAMAICA West Indies

First of all, please accept my sincerest apologies for the extremely late/tardy responses. The email this thread responds to is my wife’s personal email, and in her defense, she has repeatedly told me to check the board when she receives the notifications.

Queendee, I am from Jamaica. What part of Jamaica are you from? Do you have any information on the origins of your surname?

Lisha, I too am from Jamaica, …. Kingston, Jamaica to be exact. In the beginning of this thread I give some history of my Livingston knowledge. I believe there are some Jamaican Livingstons that are dark skinned, but that only deepens my curiosity as to who is the common factor. My great-grandfather was a direct immigrant from Scotland. He bore my grandfather, who had my father and then me. There were Livingston cousins on the Island that were related to my great grandfather, so I guess they came from Scotland as well. What can you tell me about your knowledge of the Livingston surname? Where on the Island are you from? How long ago did you migrate from JA?

Ahhhh, Cheryl!!! You have me pegged! Absolutely, this is Christopher in Atlanta! How have you been? It has certainly been a long time!!! My job has had me travelling so much that I haven’t had time to do much anthing else. When I make it home, its family time!! But no excuse, we can catch up via email if you still have my email address. I am not sure if you are on, or familiar with Facebook, but I recently joined to stay connected with everyone. I am sure I still have one of your e-mails archived, so I will try to look it up and shoot you an email.

Hi Dennis, the Livingston tree in Jamaica has been an enigma for me, for many years. There were quite a bit of them in Jamaica and I believe, all were related in some way, shape or form. Most of my great-grandfathers’ children migrated to New York (not Viginia, or Kentucky or Indiana) except for my grandfather and probably 2 siblings (there were 7 of them). The ones that migrated probably integrated into the Livingston namesake there in NY as it was a prestigious name there ( and in Texas too I believe). Keep this link and as time permits, if I find anything else, I will be sure to post. Cheryl is also an extremely resourceful lady when it comes on to the Livingston clan, so again, keep the link.
OK, this may or may not be related at all, but I have been trying to bust through a brick wall in the research of my Livingston ancestry. I’ve confidently traced back to a Robert Livingston b1786 in Virginia, d. 1866 in Indiana, who’s father may have been John Livingston d. before 1821 in Kentucky. I have found numerous bits of information here and there regarding certain Virginia Livingstons who had commerce in Jamaica, though so far I have not been able to tie any of them into my family tree. I don’t have my research with me right now, but I know there was a Muscoe Livingston and at least one John.

I have no idea if any of these individuals are related to William Napier Livingston, I can’t even connect them to my ancestry as of yet. And I also don't know if they are related to the New York Livingstons mentioned. I do know that some of the Livingstons I have researched who came from or went to Virginia with ties to Jamaica have some connection to the New York branch, as there is mention of them in a will, and when one of the Virginia Livingstons got into legal trouble, he communicated with one of the New York Livingstons holding office.

But with a common location of Jamaica, I figure it doesn’t hurt to look. If any of you have your Livingston line going from Jamaica to Virginia, Kentucky, and/or Indiana, I would be interested to get with you to see if there might be someone I can tie into my tree to break me through this wall, I would be happy to share what information I have found as well.

Thanks,
Dennis Livingston

My information on the Livingstons is fairly limited, but I'd like to know more. I have quite a bit of information on the Fosters, including informtion about their origins and family in England. I'd be happy to share some of what I have. Let me know! - Mike

HI, according to the "Van Rensselear" and "A Livingston Genealogical Register" books Robt. G. & Margaret Hude Livi*, had a son Robt. Gilbert, his wife was Martha de Reimer. The books did not show any birth/death dates. He had a sister that married in 1803, so the time frame would be right. But I think you are right, mis-linked! He could have had a 2nd wife? My other book the "Livingstons of Virginia" did not show any Robt's. that matched. Do you have any other clues, counties they live in, VA, KY, IN. etc. On a side note, I'm a co-admin for the Livi* DNA project. We do have the DNA signature of the NY branch, (Robt. G.), and that of Dr. David Livi* the explorer. If your surname is Livi* or you have found a male Livi* from your line, you could test to see where you might fit in. If you have any Q&A's or clues, please let me know. livingston_line@webtv.net. russ

Help and Reminders from the Livingston Board Administrator

Boards are such a tremendous help when doing your Livingston research. And how you enter your message can make a difference. I've just spent several hours reviewing messages for appropriate content, correct surname usage, and optimal subjects. Below are suggestions for improving your responses to your messages.

1) If your message has surnames within the subject and body, enter each surname in the 'surname field' separate by a comma. Use mixed case or uppercase; do not use lowercase.
Example Correct: Livingston, Smith, Miller
------- Wrong: Livingston/Smith/Miller
------- Wrong: livingston SMITH Miller

2) Do NOT include surnames that are NOT in the message. Even if you have Smith and Miller in your Livingston ancestry, if those surnames are NOT mentioned in the body of your message, you cannot place them into the surnames field. And if you do so, board admins are charged with checking and removing ANY name so placed. See http://boards.ancestry.com/boardfaq.aspx, the board FAQ where this is explained.

3) Many of us receive Message Board digest and the subject of the message along with which board has the posted message will encourage someone to read your message.

For example, entering ONLY the surname or even firstname lastname (as in William Livingston) is not enough information. But if you tag on something like this: William Livingston, b.1720 London -- now people some context.

4) Messages seeking information should contain as much information as possible. You may think you have very little information but if you deprive the reader of 50% of that, chances are you will receive little information.

5) Whether asking for help or providing it, if you KNOW the maiden name always include it. If you are not sure, add a ? to the name.

6) Use mixed case and punctuation in your messages. Most people find it very hard to read message written in all lowercase (or all uppercase). I once saw on another board someone who typed a long message in ONE paragraph, all lowercase with no punctuation.

7) All of us read these messages for the first time on a computer screen. Ergo, break your message into short paragraphs. People read the first words (sentences) of a paragraph. Take advantage of that so that readers truly read ALL of your message.

8) Select the correct Classification. Most messages are "Query" but not all of them should be. For example, the person who is generously providing images of Livingston's cemetery pictures, does an excellent job of always entering Livingston in the surname field and selecting Cemetery for the Classification.

8) Be careful entering names of living individuals. Board FAQ states that each living person should be contacted by YOU before you enter their name on the board.

While this is entered for the Livingston board, it applies to any message board on this site.

Should you have questions about the above, please reply here.

~ Livingston Board Administrator ... and yes, my ancestors are Livingstons.

To ALL desc. of John Orrell Livingston (FamilyTreeDNA Project)

Author: Lynn Sherrill Proffit Date: 28 Apr 2005 10:45 PM GMT
Surnames: Livingston,Martin,Proffit,Carlton,Pennell,Sherrill,Brown,Bradburn,Coffey,White,Wooten,Triplett,Roberts,McNeil,Teague,Taylor,Jolly

By having DNA test provided by Dr. Scott Victor Smith, of Cary, NC done, we have a perfect 25 marker DNA that matches with descendants of Wm. Todd Livingston-meaning we are from the same lineage, but still do not have parents of John Orrell Livingston, as yet. We are working with some of the best Livingston researchers to find who they were. We are going over many Va. county records to help solve this mystery. So many have been destroyed by wars or fire, etc.
Joe Slavin, of WTL line, gets many records from Washington, DC and has a massive file on the Livingston's. More later. If you belong to this line-make sure we have you and yours included.

Who were Andrew Livingston's parents? Any siblings?

I am _very_ interested in any information that anyone has about the Andrew Livingston(e) who married Jane, daughter of (Rev.) John II and Marvel (MAXSON) DAVIS in Harrison County in what is now West Virginia (it was, of course, just western Virginia at the time)on either the 5th or the 8th of (I believe) April, 1800. Any further information that anyone is willing to share with me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

M. J. Barber

I am looking for information on an S.E (Sarah Elizabeth?)Livingston who married J. E. (Joseph Edward?) Huckabay in Erath County, Texas on March 10th, 1890.

I also am looking for any info. on an M.K. Livingston who married a J.R. (James Robert?) Huckabay in Erath County, Texas on Feb. 16, 1890.

I need any information on their children, so I can figure out which branch my family comes from. The similar names and the closeness of the dates in the same area leads me to think that 2 sisters married 2 brothers, but I could be way off. Any info. can be posted here. Thanks

Anna Maria MUELLER, born Abt. 1736 in Edinbourg, Baden, Germany;
died 1829 in Freeburg, Stark Co., OH.

Notes for Christian LIVINGSTON:
The 1st reference we have to Christian Livingston m. Anna Spangler 19
Jul 1778, Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD. If he was either a son or a
bro. of Andrew Livingston, then he was probably b. this co., possibly in
Lancaster Co., PA 2 traditions, (1 related in the "History of Christian
Gnaegi"), claim that Christian was a German immigrant. He may have had a
former wife who d. MD. He warranted a tract of land located on the
Potomac River in Washington Co., MD. This 104 acre tract, called
"Storm," was sold to Michael Barkman 1 Apr 1793, by "Christian Levistone
& Ann his wife," who were then res.s, Bedford Co., PA. Christian's
stepson Christian Spangler & his wife Eve were also parties to the sale.
Christian probably remained in MD until 1788, when on 6 Dec he warranted
a 150 acre tract of land, Bedford Co., PA. (now Somerset Co.), which he
called "Distillery." It was situated in Quemahoning Twp., (now Somerset
Twp.) on Spruce Run, a branch of Stoney Creek. This acreage became the
site of the Livingston homestead. 3 dys later, Christian's eldest
stepson, John Spangler, warranted a 150 acre tract on Quemahoning Creek,
which he sold to his stepfather 5 Feb 1793. This tract was later
surveyed at 193 acres, & adjoined the lands of Christian Yoder & John
Vanderins. Christian Livingston took up 2 other tracts in Quemahoning,
100 acres warranted 15 March 1793, & 100 acres warranted 28 April 1794.
Both of these tracts, & the 1 he purchased from John Spangler, were
located in what is now Stoneycreek Twp. 1790 census of PA shows Christon
Leviston in Bedford Co., with 1 male 16 & up, 2 males under 16, & 4
females. Christian d. before 25 June 1800, when letters of
administration on his estate were granted to Anne Livingstone, widow, &
Jacob Yotter. On the same dy, a bond of $1200. was posted by Anne
Livingstone, Jacob Yotter, Andrew Wey, & Christian Spangler. The
inventory of Christian's estate, written in German, taken 27 June 1802,
& included some of the following items: 4 oxen, 10 cows, 1 bull, 7
calves, 2 mares, 1 filly, 1 foal, 18 pigs & 19 sheep; a wind mill; 2
plows & 1 harrow; a sled; a loom "and what belongs to it," 4 spinning
wheels, a steelyard, & a lantern; a shoemaker; misc. dishes, spoons,
plates, bowls, pots & crocks; 1 butterchurn; axes, augers, chisels,
planes, a hatchet, a mallet & a wedge; a grindstone & a whetstone; a
sheep shear; a bellows & fire tongs; 6 beds & 4 bedsteads; several
chests; misc. horse harness, collars, halters, bridles & chains; 2
saddles & 1 saddle bag; a watch; 2 psalters & 3 hymn books. Elizabeth (Livingston) Royer
received only $17.41&1/2, & Joseph Spangler, a gson of Anna, collected
$66.00 for the Spanglers. An additional amount of $6.12 was paid out to
"Spangler's heirs." Christian & Anna Livingston had 8 chldn. The 1st 4-5
were probably b. MD, though some later claimed a PA birthplace.

More About Anna Maria MUELLER:
A.k.a./ nickname: Mary

Children of Christian LIVINGSTON and Anna MUELLER are:
i. Elizabeth LIVINGSTON, born 1780 in Washington Co., MD; died 08
September 1853 in Auburn Twp., Tuscarawas Co., OH; married Christian
ROYER Abt. 1800; born Abt. 1780; died 1826 in Sugarcreek Twp.,
Tuscarawas Co., OH.

Notes for Elizabeth LIVINGSTON:
Christian & Elizabeth res. with Anna Levingston, Somerset Co., & later
purchased Christian Levingston's property in its entirety. Abt
1812/1813, Christian & Elizabeth Royer moved to Tuscarawas Co., OH. The
widowed Anna Livingston may have made the journey with them.

ii. Catherine LIVINGSTON, born 03 March 1784 in Washington Co., MD;
died 30 January 1864 in Freeburg, Stark Co., OH; married Elias RISELY
Abt. 1808; born 27 May 1780 in MD; died 27 February 1854 in Freeburg,
Stark Co., OH.

Notes for Catherine LIVINGSTON:
Elias & Catherine removed to Stark Co., OH after their m. Her mother
later joined them in OH 1813 & res. with them until her d. 1828. Both
Catherine & Elias are bur. Freeburg Ch. of the Breth. Cem.

More About Catherine LIVINGSTON:
Burial: Freeburg Ch. of the Breth. Cem., Freeburg, Stark Co., OH

More About Elias RISELY:
Burial: Freeburg Ch. of the Breth. Cem., Freeburg, Stark Co., OH

2 iii. David LIVINGSTON, born 17 February 1787 in Washington Co., MD;
died 18 September 1826 in Conemaugh Twp., Somerset Co., PA; married
Barbara REED 1804.
iv. Henry LIVINGSTON, born 1790 in Quemahoning Twp., Bedford Co., PA;
died Abt. 1817 in Stark Co., OH.

Notes for Henry LIVINGSTON:
1802, Anna Livingston applied for a guardian for her 3 minor chldn under
the age 14; Henry was the 1 of those named. Jacob Yoder was appointed
for all of the chldn. On the 2nd Mon. Sep 1805, Henry Livingston came
into court & said he was above 14 yrs & requested John Spangler (his
half-brother) be appointed as his guardian. Henry had probably turned 15
shortly beforehand, & therefore b. late 1790. (He is probably not 1 of
the males accounted for in the Christian Livingston household in 1790;
besides the father, the household probably contained son David & stepson
Abraham Spangler). Henry apparently m. PA, as OH keeps very good m.
records, & none has been located for him. Henry d. before Apr 1831, when
his son, Jesse Livingston applied for a guardian. Since Henry had only 1
chld, he probably d. shortly after his son's b. 1816. Henry's bro. David
Livingston had a son Henry, b. 1817, possibly given that name in memory
of his bro. Henry's wife may be the Elizabeth Levenstein who married
Henry Rafesnider, Stark Co. 1837 as his 2nd wife. Henry Levingston's son
Jesse chose Henry Klippard, Osnaburg as his guardian, & 1850, Henry
Klippard's dau, Frances was living with Henry & Elizabeth (Levenstein)
Rafesnider.

v. Susanna LIVINGSTON, born 12 June 1782 in Washington Co., MD; died
10 March 1830 in North Twp., Harrison Co., OH; married Jacob GNAGEY, Sr.
1804; born 23 February 1780 in Somerset Co., PA; died 23 July 1871 in
Harrison Co., OH.

Notes for Susanna LIVINGSTON:
Susanna & Jacob moved to what is now Harrison Co., OH abt 1806, settling
near Scio. An account of this family is given in Charles Hanna's: "OH
Valley Genealogies." Susanna's yr of b. given in the Elias Gnagey's
History as 1780, but this would clash with her sis Elizabeth; also, it
would make Susanna age 50 at the birth of her last child. Since her
birth order in her father's estate papers places her between Elizabeth &
Catherine, then she must have been b. 1782.

More About Jacob GNAGEY, Sr.:
A.k.a./ nickname: Gnagy, Canaga

vi. Andrew LIVINGSTON, born Abt. 1793 in Quemahoning Twp., Bedford
Co., PA; died Abt. 1834; married (1) Christina MACKENTARFER 15 February
1814 in Stark Co., OH; born Abt. 1795; married (2) Sarah DEWEESE 09
March 1820; born Abt. 1795.

Notes for Andrew LIVINGSTON:
Andrew res. Stark Co., until abt 1816, when he removed to Wayne Twp.,
Wayne Co., OH. The will of Andrew's former father-in-law, George
Mackentarfer, proved 1817, was worded in such a way as to indicate that
Andrew & Christina had at least 2 chldn, 1 of which was male. 1820
census Wayne Twp., Wayne Co., OH shows Andrew with 1 male & 1 female
under 10. Since he had just m. Sarah Deweese, these must be chldn by his
former wife. 1827, a James McFadden was appointed guardian for a Sarah &
Charles Livingston in Wayne Co., this apparently being for the legacy
they were to receive from their maternal gfather. Numerous land
transactions are recorded for Andrew in both Stark & Wayne Co.s
(including 1 contracted with the above James McFadden), the last being a
purchase from George Bair in 1823. Andrew attended his mother's estate
sale Dec 1828 & purchased the following items: 1 spinning wheel, 2
pillows, 2 & 3/4 yards of flax linen, 1 & 1/2 yards of flax linen, 1
pair of mittens, knitting needles, yarn & flax, 3 handkerchiefs, thread,
2 bottles, 1 towel, 1 spoon & tin cup, 1 sugar box & 1 chest. The total
of his purchases came to $6.01. Andrew is not found 1830 census for OH,
but was living as late as 1833, when he was paid the balance owing him
from his mother's estate. I have been unable to determine what became of
him after that; a search of census indices for about a dozen western
states in 1850 has yielded no Andrew or Sarah Livingstons which match.

vii. Anne LIVINGSTON, born Abt. 1795 in Stonycreek Twp., Somerset Co.,
PA; died in Stark Co., OH; married Jacob BAUGHMAN, Sr. 04 March 1813 in
Stark Co., OH; born 24 January 1790 in Lehigh Co., PA.

Notes for Anne LIVINGSTON:
Anne & Jacob res. Nimishillan Twp., Stark Co., OH. 1820 census of his
family shows 1 male 26-45, 1 female 16-26, & 1 female under 10. 1830
census we find 1 male 30-40, 1 male 20-30, 2 males under 10 & 1 female
30-40. Anny Backman is enumerated in 1840 with 1 female 40-50, 1 male
10-15, & 1 male 5-10. Anne apparently d. before 1850. Neither she nor
any of her chldn appear on the 1850 census, but her 2 younger sons are
found in 1860. Jacob Baughman was the administrator of his
mother-in-law's estate, but did not long survive her, dying early in
1831, & the balance due Anna Livingston's heirs was pd out of his
estate. Jacob's personal estate amounted to $1525.83, a considerable sum
at that time.

Notes for Jacob BAUGHMAN, Sr.:
Jacob Baughman, hus. of Anne, b. 24 Jan 1790, the s/o Henry & Esther
(Bachman) Baughman, who migrated from Lehigh Co., PA to Stark Co., OH.

viii. Mary LIVINGSTON, born 23 May 1786 in Washington Co., MD; died 07
February 1859 in West Twp., Columbiana Co., OH; married (1) John CAPP
1807 in Somerset Co., PA; born Abt. 1780; married (2) John MESSIMORE,
Jr. 12 November 1815 in Stark Co., OH; born 03 December 1791 in York
Co., PA; died 02 July 1874 in West Twp., Columbiana Co., OH.

Notes for Mary LIVINGSTON:
Mary m. John Kopp PA. "John Capp" 1st appears on the Somerset Co., tax
assessments 1806 Somerset Twp., with 60 acres, 1 horse, 2 cows & a
cabin. He continues on the lists with the same property through 1810;
1811 list he has only his horse & 2 cows. A Peter Capp in the same Twp
has what appears to be John's 60 acres & cabin in this yr; apparently
John sold the acreage to Peter (probably his father or bro.). John is
enumerated 1810 census for Somerset Twp. with 1 male 26-45, 4 males
under 10, 1 female 26-45, & 1 female under 10. Since John & Mary m.
1807, she would have been his 2nd wife. 2 male chldn which appear on a
later census, when Mary is the w/o John Messimore cannot be accounted
for as Messimore chldn, & were possibly Mary's sons by John Kopp. Only 1
son of John Kopp & Mary is known. A Deed between David Levingston & his
sib.s recorded 28 Apr 1814 contains the following reference: "this 2 May
1807 David Levenston has pd his sis. Mary Levenstonen pd in full the
part of her portion of the ____? signed by Johannes Kopp." Although
still referred to by her maiden name, she & John would have been already
m. at this time. Another document of this type shows both of her m.
sis.s, Elizabeth & Susanna referred to by their maiden names. John Kopp
is not listed on the tax list after 1811. According to "Francis Shaw &
Relatives," published 1921, Mary's former hus., whose name was not given
therein, d. of wounds received War of 1812. The author of the above was
living in the mid to late 1800s & was personally acquainted with many
members of the Messimore family. 12 Nov 1815, Stark Co., OH, Mary Cope &
John "Massimore" were m. by Michael Miller, A German Bapt. Minister.
John Messimore b. 3 Dec 1791 York Co., Pa., s/o John & Catherine
(Derwechter) Messimore. John was 5 yrs younger than his new wife. John &
Mary settled in West Twp., Columbiana Co., near John's mother & sib.s.
John was a prosperous farmer, who owned real estate which was valued at
$1600 on 1850 census. According to "Francis Shaw & Relatives," the 1st
home of the family was a log cabin; later they built a frame house. Both
d. in the frame house; Mary in 1859 & John 2 Jul 1874. They are bur.
Plains Ch. Cem. The family farm was left to John & Mary's unmarried
dau.s, Anna & Lucinda. A 3rd unmarried dau., Mary, was listed on the
1860 census as "insane," & was later committed to an institution. In
addition to their own chldn, John & Mary raised their gdau. Lydia
Messimore, d/o their deceased son David.

More About Mary LIVINGSTON:
Burial: Plains Ch. Cem, Columbiana Co., OH

6. Jacob REED, Sr., born Abt. 1763; died 1815. He married 7. Regina
(Ukwn) REED.
7. Regina (Ukwn) REED, born 29 December 1756; died 09 April 1846 in
Conemaugh Twp., Somerset Co., PA.

Notes for Jacob REED, Sr.:
In the name of God, Amen, I Jacob Reed of Conemaugh Twp, Somerset Co, am
sick & weak of body, but God be thanked of still of good knowledge &
intellect. 1st, I give my body over to the earth & my soul I command
into the hand of Almighty God. In the 1st place, I decree & authorize
that my wife Regina shall have of my worldly goods with which God has
blessed me in this world, namely 1 cow, my pipe-oven & a bed & bedstead.
2 things, a small table & a small chest should my Executor keep back of
the sale money for my wife Regina. My remaining movable goods should be
sold & the debts should be paid from it. If anything is left over when
all is paid, the remaining money should be divided into 4 parts; 1 part
for my wife Regina, 1 part for my son Jacob, 1 part for my dau. Barbara
& 1 part for my dau. Susanna. For her chldn, should my executor take her
part & buy of it household goods, & my dau. Susanna should have it lent
until her eldest chld comes of age. In the wk following my death my
movable goods should be sold at public sale & my stationary goods, the
land, should be sold at public sale. If it comes up to a $100 but not
sell at public sale, thus should my my Executor lend it. An acre
thereafter should he sell & my wife Regina should have the rent of it to
her use. When the land is sold, the money should be lent, & my wife
Regina should have the interest from it as long as she remains my widow
or bears my name. As soon as she remarries or dies, then should that
money be divided among my heirs in equal parts to my dau. Barbara &
Jacob & my dau. Susanna. Her part should be set aside until her chldn
come of age, & that 3rd part my Executor should take any buy from it her
clothing & household goods as she needs. The Executor must clear my land
& that which I have sold to Michael Miller, & must give 1/3 out of my
3rd to Michael Miller, according to the agreement that I Jacob Reed, &
Michael Miller have with 1 another. It should be paid out of the money
owing to Michael Miller. If it is not sufficient, he should take it from
the other money until he can pay it. I appoint & decree my neighbor
Jacob Kauffman, waggoner, as the Executor of my remaining estate. This
is my last will & testament. So I have signed myself by indicating with
my own hand & seal.
The 20 Ap 1813.
In the presence of
Jacob Reed
his
Jacob Webeer
X
mark
Tobias Miller

More About Regina (Ukwn) REED:
Burial: Sala-Livingston Cem., Conemaugh Twp., Somerset Co., PA

Children of Jacob REED and Regina REED are:
3 i.

My father, Ray William Ellsworth searched for decades for his Grandmother, Diana Livingston whose parents we now suppose are Nehemiah Livingston and Indiana Foster, they lived in Oswego, NY. Stories are that they came down from Canada. I can't find any evidence of this..we have also been told that there is a relationship here to the Dr. Stanley Livingston. I'm not sure where to go next. Thanks for any help

Sally Livingston married Fletcher Moorhead in Adams/York Co. She is listed with him in the History of Cumberland and Adams Counties. Her obt was in the Republican Complier stating she died 25 Sep 1849 in Petersburg at age 79 and was the widow of Fletcher Moorhead. Does anyone know anything about this couple? Who were Sally's parents? She would have been born about 1770. Also, who were their children? Thanks for any help you can give. Paula Rollins

Cecilia, I think you need to check the Public Trees on Anc.com and check out Johann George Liebenstein. I believe you are looking for a German. William is not common for Germans, but the translation is Wilhem. The other names you mentioned are from the German grp. that starts abt 1739sh in York. At least that gives you another avenue for research. I still think you should check for a death cert. or at least when they started in Adams Co. Good luck, I am having my own issues with Livingston in Adams Co. It seems that these people existed only on a few pieces of paper!!! Paula Rollins

Hi, I am a Livingston whose greatgrandfather 3Xs lived in Kingston Jamacia; his name was Phillip Beekman Livingston - he was married to Mary Archbold and they had five children: Phillip, Mary, Robert, Jasper and Lawrence. Philip was from the large Livingston family of New York - first person in our family line was Robert Livingston (from Scotland) - does any of this sound familiar to you? There were several other Livingston Families in Jamaica - most were cousins of Phillip Beekman Livingston. In fact I have had contact with a wonderful young man whose surname is Livingston and he is interested in the Livingston and Napier families. Just thought, perhaps, this is you? My name is Cheryl - if you have been in touch with me - please email me at my personal email - if not - if you (the author of this poat) have not been in touch with me - then I am certain you and the young man I mentioned are related in some way. Post back to me IF YOU HAE NOT BEEN IN TOUCH WITH ME PREVIOUSLY! If you are C in Atlanta, please email me!
