I live in Oklahoma, my grandfather Vincent Livsey is from a family of 14 from Havastraw (not sure on spelling) New York. I think I am related to Thomas Livsey somehow just heard his name from granddad at some point. I have 6 siblings so plenty of Livseys down here in Oklahoma.

Lost Livseys!!!

My name's Ashley, I'm 20 years old. I guess I don't have much of a family, and I don't know anything, really, about my Livsey family history.

I do know this.

My grandfather's name was Donald Livsey. He lived in Florida and died sometime around 2004. I never really knew him. I know that he used to live up here with us, in Massachusetts, in the Northern Berkshire County area. He was married to a woman named Viola Howland, whom I never met.

For Children they had (oldest to youngest) Thomas, Nancy, Cheryl, Bryan, and Sandra. Bryan was my father. He passed away in September of 2006. He was married once, to my mother, Donna Myal (maiden). They had two children, myself and my younger sister Katherine.

Thomas has two sons, Thomas Jr. and Mark.

Nancy also has children, but I'm unsure of their names.

Cheryl has one son, Steve.

Sandra has no children.

When I was younger, I do recall my dad telling us something about living in Kansas. I also strongly remember him being very very VERY proud of his english/dutch heritage.

I have no idea whether or not my grandpa, Donald Livsey, had siblings.

If anyone has any additional information, please let me know. Thank you so much.
I have visited this cemetery myself about 6 years ago This is the site where Green H. Livsey is burried along with his wife Barbara Ann Poss and Barbara's father Henry Thomas Poss Sr. It is basically just a very small family burial area, which is in severe deterioration at this point. The cemetery is near Bay Creek and is nearly impossible to locate unless you have been taken there by someone who has ever been there before - it is located way into a wooded area with no real markings, roads or trails to get to it. It was an open field on top of a hill at the time when the family was using it. But, since that time, an entire forest has grown-up around it. Please contact me if you need to know how to get there.

Thanks,
Jeff Hannah
Lawrenceville, Georgia

Hi Val -

I have in my database a William Livsey born December 2, 1853, and died October 29, 1906. He was the son of Charles H. Livsey and Rebecca Amanda Bryan, all of Wilkes and Gwinnett Counties in Georgia. Please let me know if you think there is a connection. I don't have any info on who he married or his children.

thanks,
Jeff

Hi Pasha -

Green H. Livsey (approx. 1774) was my 4great grandfather and was the ancestor of most of the Livseys in Georgia. I wanted to let you know that there is already a Livsey Reunion Association which has been meeting continuously since 1952 in Clarkston, Georgia (near Lithonia as you probably know!). Most of the attendees are descendants of Charles H. Livsey (one of the sons of Green H). However, it is open to all Livseys who are descended from Green H. Livsey. It is normally held in June every year. I have not gotten a letter yet which indicates the date for this year. But, feel free to contact me directly and I can share more information with you (jhannah@nthdegree.com).

I have quite a bit of information on the Livsey family, and have visited the cemetery where Green is burried near Bay Creek (which is nearly impossible to locate unless you have been taken there by someone who has ever been there before - it is located way into a wooded area with no real markings as to it's location. It was an open field on top of a hill at the time when the family was using it. But, since then an entire forest has grown-up around it. Please contact me so that we can exchange further info.

Thanks,
Jeff Hannah
Lawrenceville, Georgia

On the Ellis Island Passenger lists I find Wm. Livsey, 36 an engineer, his wife Mary, 33, and children Donald, 5 and Christine, 2 coming from Glasgow on the Caledonia, arriving NY May 24, 1908. They came from Dumbarton, Scotland. Their nearest relative in Scotland was Wm. Livsey at 11 Bank Terr., Jamestown, and they were moving to Palmer Falls, NY.

The same family appears in the 1920 Federal Census living in Schenectady, NY

Perhaps there is information that we can exchange to help you find what you need. The good thing is that the name LIVSEY is rare and makes us related some where down the line. We are planning a Livsey Family Reunion 2007. My grandfather is Albert Livsey born 1916, Georgia. He had 21 siblings...can't remember his Mother and Father names, but I can ask him.

Livsey Family / Reunion for 2007

This message is for all Livsey descendents. I am the granddaughter of Albert Livsey (1916) of Lithonia, Georgia. My grandfather had over 20 siblings, some of which we are still blessed for having around. One of my grandfather's brothers is Thomas Livsey of Linthonia, GA. He has a vast knowledge of our family history. Most of our family derives from these areas (also Gwinnett & Walton counties). I am trying to contact ALL Livsey family members nationwide so we can get in touvh with our family history. Please email me paliv78@msn.com to discuss in further detail.
We are planning a Livsey reunion for July or August of 2007, location to be announced.

That Dakin person in the search list is also related some way. She refers to a Jennie Agler, which if I'm not mistaken is a nickname for Jane Ann Livsey (who married Roland Agler) or else there is another, but I have heard the name Aunt Jenny somewhere in the way back past said by someone back in Casey while visiting as a child.
Are you Jim Fancher's daughter? Or Gary's or Steve's? Your grandmother is my Aunt Maurine. She is the only one left of the 4 girl's that Jane Livsey and Roland Agler had. There were Valma, Maureen, Ruth and Betty in age sequence. Ruth was my mother. Roland would have been your GreatGrandfather. I would love to see her again. I lost track of where she is. The last I knew she was living somewhere near my cousin Gary. I had gone out to Seattle to take care of my mother until she passed away and lost the address and phone number I had for Gary. Fred Wilmot is my brother and lives in Sicily right now. I believe you would be a second cousin as Jim, Gary and Steve are our 1st cousins. I'm not sure. I don't have your e-mail address as they don't post that.

My grandmother's name was Jane Ann Livsey and she married Roland Agler, probably back in the late 1800's. They lived around Casey, IL (a small town near Terre Haute, IN)most of their lives. I have no information as to her parents, brothers or sisters, if any.
Jane Ann Livsey died in the 60's in Casey, IL where she was living with one of her 4 daughters and her daughter's husband, Maureen and Nash Fancher. I may have the exact date with my mother's things (currently in Seattle, but I am in NY), but Casey is a very small town and would only have one newspaper. Jane and Roland had 4 daughters, Valma, Maureen, Ruth (my mother) and Betty. The only one still living is Maureen and she is staying with one of her son's in Indiana. I will see if I can get more information from him.
