Yes, this is the longlost Carolyn Domini! I think I'd changed my email service or upgraded on AOL and therefore lost your email. I could hardly believe your post was so easy to find again. I read over the details and was amazed to read about the legacy of horses; although I've never owned one, they have been a lifelong love of mine. As an artist I began drawing them as a child, my favorite tale has always been Black Beauty, and I love horses to this day, although I have never owned one! Coincidence? Maybe... Hi, I am in Philadelphia, trying to locate information about my mom's side of the family. Her father, Victor Locastro, was first generation Italian. He grew up in Long Island. His grandfather apparently abandoned the family shortly after immigrating. He had an uncle, or a great uncle, Joe. It was either his parents or his grandmother who made a living as a tailor. The Locastros in the "old country" of Sicily apparently made pottery. If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate it!

Salvatore Arthur Locastro "Sam" maybe listed on the 1920 census in Memphis, Shelby, TN.

Hi, My name is Jessica Locastro My husband is Tony Locastro, his father is Thomas Joseph Locastro Jr., his father was Thomas Joseph Locastro, Sr, then his was Salvatore "Sam" Arthur Locastro born in 1888 Italy, Moved to Memphis, TN. he died there in 1961 his wife was Rosa Salvaggio Locastro she was born in 1892 italy and died in 1943 in memphis. Does any of that sound familiar? I am ggranddaughter of Salvatore Locastro born abt 1868. Married Maria Ann Giordano abt 1884 - divorced from maria Anna by 1920 census in Cleveland. My grandmother Rosalind or Rosina born in 1901. Married my gfather Domenico Parraco. Sisters Elizabeth, Anna, brothers Frank, Al, Jimmy.
Parraco's moved from Ohio to California in 1943. Only knew my Aunt Elizabeth ne:Fracassi as a child. Rosalind died in 1945. Salvatore remarried and had another family. Very interested to find out any information. Thank you!!!

What part of Italy? My family is from Marineo Sicily? My Great Grandfather Benedetto LoCastro came over in 1922 and resided in Hells Kitchen NYC, and his Dad, Joseph LoCastro, came over earlier and resided in Lodi, NJ. Any connection there?

Hi Margie.....I don't know if you remember me for you were young at the time...but your mom, Francine, was my sister....Grandpa LoCastro was our dad.....I remember you and your sisters, Jeanne and Carolyn.....the last time I saw all you girls was in 1963....that was many years ago.....I know alot has happened over the years and we all have changed.....in many ways....I am glad
to know that I was finally able to connect with family members....I always thought about the family and what happened to them.....now I don't have to wonder what happened to everybody.....am slowly finding relatives I didn't even know I had.....take care....

I am looking for a Salvatore/Sam Locastro who was born in 1888 in Sicily. He married Rosa Salvaggio in 1910 in Memphis Tn. Sam, he changed his name immigrated in 1903 to Eliis Island, I believe or Pa.
I cannot find his parents or any of his siblings. I can find leads but nothing definite. Do you have any information on this family you will share? Thank you.

Hi Frances, Was wondering if you had any other info on your grandfather. I have an uncle Anthony LoCastro who lives on Long Island, and his dad was Frank LoCastro, he died in the mid-forties. Anthony was born ca 1937, and his father's father was Joseph LoCastro from Marineo, Palermo Province. Anthony has an older brother Joseph, and older sister Mary. They settled in Brooklyn, NY, and Frank LoCastro was born in NY and married Maria Daidone, also from Marineo, Palermo. Please let me know if this sounds familiar...Julie in MA

Happy to see many Locastro in the net. I live in Milano, Italy, my father Michele Locastro was born in a small city called Grammichele near Catania, in Sicily. His father was born in Grammichele also, he died in the second world war, in the USSR. In Italy there are many Locastro. I hope you will be happy to read one of yuou related from Italy. I'm 33 and I'm an educational-project manager.
PS: someone has mentioned the village of Linguaglossa... is near Catania.

The only name I recoginize is Mark.I am the former wife of a Larry Villarose.He had a Uncle Mark. They were orinigally from Phila ,Pa. Uncle mark died quite a few yrs ago. Larry lives in N.J. but I do not see him.

Hi, I just started researching my ancestry with the intention of going to Sicily next summer. Joseph III, your history sounded most similar to mine. Unfortunately, I don't know much, yet since I come from a very broken family. My mother did tell me that her great-grandfather's name is "Jasper" LoCastro who had brothers Joseph and Albert and a sister Jenny. I think that she guessed when she said he came over here from Sicily in 1906. I don't know about a return trip. I believe that they moved directly to San Francisco, but am not sure.

My grand father was born in Sicily in 1888. He came to
the United States around 1905. He real name was Giuseppe.
His fathers name was Angelo. He went back to Sicily in 1917
to mary my grandmother Carmela Cuccinota from Messina. Does this sound like someone you may know?
