Abijah Locke (b. 1751 per Baptisms and Admission of First Church in Falmouth compiled by Marquis F. King page 81) married (first) Mary Phipps on 18 Oct. 1783 per Marriage Returns of Cumberland County, Maine Prior to 1892 Edited by Clayton Rand Adams on page 31. Abijah was son of Nathaniel Locke, Jr. and his 2nd wife, Mary Stubbs.
They probably had Elizabeth Locke, b. abt. 1784 (determined by death date on her headstone of Aet 87 on Oct. 6, 1871. She married Edward Drinkwater (b. 29 Dec 1783) MI on 14 Dec. 1806 at N. Yarmouth. Elizabeth was age 66 in the 1850 Census, Webster, ME. Elizabeth and Edward are buried next to each other at the Old Sanborn Cemetery, Sabattus, ME.
Notes from Rev. Allen Greely for North Yarmouth Families on Daniel Drinkwater (Edward was son of Daniel) & family shows (page 126) that Edward and Elizabeth Drinkwater named a child, Abijah, probably after Elizabeht's father.
